    I received a free copy of HOW TO MANAGE PEOPLE (Fast, Effective Management Skills that Really Get Results) by Michael Armstrong in exchange for an honest review. This book starts by defining the difference between management (working within the existing framework to achieve goals) and leadership (seeking a better way to achieve goals even when it breaks existing rules). Once you know which one you need, you can plan accordingly. The advice offered in this book addresses several aspects integral to management: employee-manager rapport, motivation, team building, delegation, training, performance management, mediating employee conflicts, and interviewing. The author gives tactics to resolve problems arising in each of those aspects and candidly discusses the benefits and drawbacks of each tactic. I found this book informative and easy to understand. The advice seems sound and logical. It would be a great resource/reference for new managers, for managers seeking to increase productivity, and also for those interested in future management. #HowToManagePeople #NetGalley
