    Thanks for your feedback!

Written much in the same vein as his column for the Guardian, the Secret Footballer provides an amusing and thoroughly interesting account of the trials and tribulations of his career. While the book covers a large timespan (his whole career to date), at times jumping back and forth chronologically, it flows nicely and incorporates just the right amount of detail. The author's anonymity allows for often brutal assessments of those he has played and worked with, and many an entertaining anecdote that one would otherwise perhaps be reluctant to reveal. An engaging read that will undoubtedly cause many to reassess some of their preconceptions about the industry, as well as prompting many guesses and second-guesses as to the Secret Footballer's identity.

    Insightful and revealing

Intelligently written and worthwhile reading for anyone that really wants to know what a footballer's life is like. Variously funny, sad, surprising, informative. Always readable.

    I am the secret footballer

I question whether the writer of this book was ever a professional footballer; most of what I read could have been written by a football journalist for instance. It would be a lot more interesting if more names of footballers were mentioned rather than 'a player who I played with....'. That would give the book a bit of credibility. I gave up reading when I got to the chapter on Agents; it seems he is now an Agent and he tries to justify the vast sums that Agents are taking out of the game! I regret buying the book; in future I will stick to buying real footballers autobiographies.

    A good read

An enjoyable book if you want to find out a bit more about the excesses of being a premiership footballer. It's not particularly well written. It jumps around in parts where a point starts being made, but is then never finished - nevertheless it holds your interest until the last page. The author expressed forthright views which is refreshing.
