    No spoilers review

This is a great addition to the Docherty expanded universe, which is amazing and you should read, and worth a read even if you haven't read any of the works connected to this. I love how magic is out in the open in this world setting. How the characters react to the new challenges sudden magic brings along with it is how we should all start to think about these settings. Five stars. Would love again.

    Got me teary eyed

Another pleasant surprise awaited me when I picked this story up and has made Sarah WaterRaven one of my favorite authors along with some of her other works(Detective Docherty books 1, 2 & 3 and the story of Iolite). I fell in Love with a Necromancer is an immersive medium-length novel that carries with it a tale of love, underlying mystery, and a dash of magic. It didn't take long for the plot to capture and direct me through a series of emotional events that left me teary eyed in the end(which I'm not ashamed to admit). This is a great story that I recommend to both new readers and anyone familiar with WaterRaven's previous works!

    Interesting but inadequate?

Decent premise with some interesting details -- I really liked the rats, and Cheetoh is lovely, plus the dual narrator thing was well done. I don't regret having read it, but it feels like there should be *more* somehow.
