    Heartwarming

I absolutely love this series. It highlights the very best of men. Nick is looking for genuine lifetime love. He has watched his best friend fall in love and feels it is time for him to do the same. He is concerned that people won’t see the real him and devices a plan to get around that. Cami has sworn off dating jocks and especially hockey players because of her ex. She is loyal to her family and spends her time taking care of them. Their first date is manipulated by her siblings but they agree to go on another. This is a sexy and intense story. Watching Nick fight for the woman he loves and the future he wants is heartwarming. The team is a big family that supports each other and protects the people they love. Talking about the issues of inadequacy that Cami was dealing with makes the story even more compassionate and sweeter. You will enjoy turning the pages to the beautiful ending.

    Ice Hard

This book is amazing. Nick and Cami are the best. I wanted to be violent towards Beth and Matt but Cami rose to the top and didn’t stoop to their level, if you treat your family like that, what would you do to a friend.

Nick is the perfect ice hockey hottie!

This is book #2 in the New York Nighthawks series and Nick George's story. Nick is Christian Chase's best friend and now the best man in his wedding. This story starts at Chris' bachelor party and has Nick wishing for a special relationship of his own. At the bar where the party is held, Nick catches the eye of a bartender, Camille Benetti. Cami is attracted to Nick but has sworn off hockey players because of her past. Cami's dream is to own her family's Italian restaurant but her old-fashioned father won't allow it. Nick keeps pursuing Cami until she finally agrees to be his date for Chris' wedding. What Cami didn't realize was that Nick was playing for keeps and he was going to convince Cami that she belongs with him always. It will take a huge leap of faith from Cami to finally commit to Nick but once she does they have a perfect happy ending. I just adored Nick. He may be tall, sexy and alpha but he is also a squishy teddy bear deep down inside. He was the perfect person to help make Cami's dreams come true. I liked Cami, but at times she was so afraid of her past you just wanted to shake her so she would see what was right in front of her. Luckily she came to her senses quickly. Overall this was a fun addition to this series.

    hockey romance

I enjoy hockey books, and this one did not disappoint! I loved the characters, the underlying reason for Cami to not want to get involved with anyone, Nick’s reactions to everything…SCORE! There were deep, emotional moments, extremely hot moments, a great storyline, and the characters were great! This is the second book in the New York Nighthawks hockey series written by romance author Tracy Goodwin. I would recommend reading book 1 first, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. The characters do move forward into this one, though. It is a quicker dual person POV read. I really liked this one and would give it 4.5 stars (rounding up to 5)

    Not your typical sports romance

Today's book is Ice Hard and was written by Tracy Goodwin. This book is the second in the New York Nighthawks series which is a contemporary romance series. I received this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy from LoveSwept through NetGalley. Nick George is a professional hockey player and Camille Bennett is a restaurateur who is not willing to give a second hockey player the chance to break her heart. The two start out as strangers who agree to attend a wedding together, followed by spending the night and separating after that, though Nick decides that he wants to know more about Cami and help her accomplish he dreams, while Cami is all for stopping their relationship after one night. In the end the characters learn what it means to be happy and content with their lifestyles. I was impressed by the author's background on why Cami refuses to date hockey players and how it was done at a much deeper level than the usual for stories that involve this trope type of relationship. I wonder why the author did not have Cami interacting more with her ex as a way to gain full closure on the previous relationship. I also wonder why Cami's family was so against her personality type of helping everyone out when she could and the problem has no real resolution. It reminds me the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson and not because they are both sport romances based on hockey players but the drama in Cami's family and the way the players sort of create their own family among one another. The overall plot was good and had a lot of interesting points, so 8 points. The overall character development was okay but lack some needed growth, so 6 points. The overall layout and flow was excellent, so 8 points. The overall grade was 73% or 4 stars. Yes, I would recommend this book. Those who enjoy sport romances, happily ever afters, and whole families. Those who dislike divorce, family bickering and insults in a professional setting, should stay away.
