  • Fabulous, shocking surprise

I didn't expect to like this book. I liked something about Dani in the previous books, but was much more focused on Mac. Dani's character is the star of the show in this book, and with good reason. I love the innocence and potential between her and Dancer, the interactions (most of the time) between Dani and Ryodan and Dani and Christian. This displays so much more depth to Dani, her life, and her determination to be big and bad, yet still shows her sweet tender side and a bit of her back story as well. There are quotes in this book, I find myself quoting "dusk comes hard-edged and violet", that are truly poetic. I was shockingly surprised and loved this book.

  • Interesting concept but AWFUL execution

This is my second time reading the Fever series. However, the first time I skipped Iced because I hated the idea of having to read this rather mature series (that I love) in the voice of the mega annoying 14 year old Dani. Alas, it left me a bit confused in the following books because there are a few details that carry forward. First, my biggest issue is the over sexualisation of a CHILD. Dani is 14 and it disgusted me to read about the perverse thoughts some of the male leads were having about her! I am in no way a prude (hello, love the rest of the books) but this was a step too far into the realm of inappropriate. Second, Dani is the world's most annoying character. Why, in a series with high sexual content and mature matters, would an author chose to write a book that is 95% from the perspective of a child? Finally, with all the stuff happening in the story line you can't tell me that Mac and Barrons would sit back and let it all happen with no involvement? Moning left the central characters completely out of the storyline of this book which just blows a hole in the series. Once again, love the series. I will re read over and over and I can't wait for the new book! BUT I will not read Iced again. I absolutley hate this book. The storyline could've been much better with Mac as the lead or at least another character who is much more mature - and without leaving main characters MIA from the story.

  • Iced

Author fell in love with her own characters, and forgot that she has to get the reader to fall in love with them. To much self analysis by the characters.
