  • An awesome one sit read!

I received this e-book from the author for a honest review. I am so happy I requested this book. I had seen it floating around and loved the sound of the synopsis. It seemed different than the typical NA romances that I had been reading. Lucy is, I think, one of the best female leads I have ever read about. I really like an extremely smart main character. I'm not talking about random comments here and there about how a character has a 4.0 GPA, I'm talking about extremely intelligent characters. Lucy reminded me of a mixture between Bones and Sheldon. Particularly Bones. She had an awesome witty internal voice and the way she thought of everything so logically was awesome. The basis of the story was her trying to learn more about human emotions and because of that she wasn't the whiny, self-absorbed female that pops up in a lot of New Adult Romances. The romance in this was super cute and slow. I loved the snow storm scene, I think it was just about my favorite part in the whole book. It wasn't inst-love, it was supposed to just be a project with Lucy viewing it analytically. Having her find such a deep connection with Jensen was heartwarming. Now, I give this book 4.75 out of 5 stars(Goodreads really needs to come up with a .25,.5,.75 option). I docked a quarter of a star for a couple issues I had with certain things that happened in the book. One instance in particular was Freya telling Lucy to make Jensen jealous to make him want her more. I really dislike this in romance novels. Using emotions against your significant other is not a way to foster a healthy relationship. That being said, Lucy and Jensen discussed what happened and it was resolved well. All in all, this was a fantastic little story and it was exactly what I needed to break up the Fantasy kick I've been on. I can't wait to buy Imperfectly Criminal and get my hands on some paperback copies of both of these books! This is definitely a series to keep an eye on!

  • Formulaic

Some funny moments, but overall predictable. The characters didn't feel realistic.

  • Imperfect chemistry

Just love it, it's one of the best I have read and I can actually compare it to an every day life of a serious student in high school
