  • A perfect HEA for Penny & Scott!

This is a beautiful novella set in the world of the Dark Knights/the Whiskeys. It isn't very long, but it sure packs a punch, emotion wise! At one point I was a bit teary eyed, but at the end, I was all smiles! It was very sweet, and ended with a perfect HEA! Penny is in love. But what should be the happiest time of her life is full of confused emotions and an uncertain future. She knows what she feels, but isn't sure if those feelings are returned, or if there is even a future for them. Scott had a horrific childhood, and that's left him with unresolved issues, and feelings of anger and self doubt. He doesn't know if he deserves it, or if he even should, but he knows he wants Penny. The question is, can he keep her, or should he let her go, if he knows they want different things from life? This book is an emotional roller coaster! Penny and Scott are so perfect together, but there are a lot of issues keeping them from fulfilling what could be an amazing future. There is so much packed into this little novella, and I loved Penny and Scott together. As someone who has adored all of the Whiskey books, I was excited to find that their story was coming, and definitely loved every page! It's absolutely one that everyone should pickup ASAP!

  • All the Feels

Reading a novella you usually don't get a bunch of emotions but in this read you get ALL THE FEELS!!! It's no surprise that I am a huge fan of Melissa Foster's when you read books like this, a short quick read that can be finished in just a couple of hours yet it pulls so many emotions from you. I was crying, laughing, and cheering for Scott and Penny all the way through. Scott and his sisters were raised in an abusive household but thankfully each of them got away, in this story Scott's sister Sarah is getting married and finally getting the happy life she deserves. Scott has always been afraid that he has the darkness of his father in him but when he's with Penny he feels a calmness he never felt before, but that doesn't mean he sees a happily ever after for him. Scott and Penny have been dating for several months and while she is hoping for more, Scott doesn't see that happening. Oh stubborn man...lol If you enjoy steamy contemporary romances with a strong presence of family and friends then this book and series are definitely for you. Happy Reading!!!

  • Must read

I love when Melissa throws in little nugget books. Even though this is a Novella it sure  does pack a punch.  We met Scott & Penny in The Gritty Truth (a definite must read). In Dark Knights we learn of their story. Scott is afraid of a future because his past was so bad. He feels he will be just like his father. Penny is the ice cream shop owner who knew Scott's past. I was excited to see how this story would unfold. I love that the wedding of Sarah, Scott's sister and Bones took place in this story. Melissa never disappoints. Her stories are romantic and sexy. Another must read.

  • I love Penny and Scott.

I could wait to read Scott and Penny's story and I wasn't disappointed. It's a short story but packs one hell of a punch. Penny loves Scott with every fibre of her being and she knows he loves her too, but she also knows she will never hear those words, he loves his nieces but he will never have children of his own. His upbringing messed him up and that's understandable. Penny can only stand to watch her friends fall in love, get married and have children for so long before she realises, it's not enough for her just to be with Scott. Penny wants it all, she wants to be able to tell her man how much she loves him, she wants to walk down the aisle and she wants his adorable children running around. Their journey made me laugh out loud, cry till my hubby thought I was nuts and smile till my cheeks hurt.

  • Penny and Scott's story

Have you ever read a book and wondered about the characters that were not the main one? In for a Penny is the story of Penny Wilson and Scott Beckley, who have been secondary characters in many of Melissa Foster’s book. They are two of the many characters that add so much to the books they are in but have not been featured in their own book. Today that ends! Penny and Scott have gotten their own novella and I devoured it. In for a Penny is a novella but it tells a complete story. The story of Penny and Scott enjoying their relationship, opening their hearts, and learn to let each other in. Scott’s history is holding him back from letting Penny entirely into his life. Penny knows that he is holding back and is not willing to settle for anything less then everything. Theirs is an emotional story filled with fun, flirting, steamy encounters, trust, and tears. The bonus, we get to witness Bones and Sarah’s wedding. The cute little ones dressed up, the love in their eyes, and the joining of two beautiful loving people.
