In the Company of Wolves by Paige Tyler

In the Company of Wolves by Paige Tyler Fun, fast read. Paranormal romance. 3rd in the series but can stand alone. Finding "The One" true love and then doing whatever is needed to overcome obstacles to be together is the essence of this series of werewolf SWAT officers. They are super buff, with strong moral codes and believe in happily ever after. A great combination. I look forward to reading more of these alpha men finding their own true love. A bit too much violence but it fits the storyline.

    Exciting Action

I just finished reading Wolf Trouble and I am loving this series in a major way! Ms. Tyler combines two of my favorite things this book - paranormal romance and romantic suspense. The action is fast and intense and the stakes are higher in this installment because the Pack is up against rogue wolves and they have to bring their best game in order to overcome their opponents. Eric Becker is the newbie of the Pack and like the rest of his team, they have been on the lookout for The One since their Pack leader and pack mate found their soulmates, so when he stumbles upon a woman who leaves him speechless, he's quick to get her out of harm's way in spite of the fact that he's in the middle of a job and she is on the other side of the law. Jayna Winston found herself on the street after an attack by her step-father turned her but she was taken in by an alpha and would willingly do anything for the wolf that saved her. Lately though, they have hooked up with a group of crazy Albanian mobsters and are getting in riskier situations every day. Jayna suspects that her alpha's motives for hooking up with the mobsters are not on the up and up, but until she can come up with a way of getting her pack mates out, they are stuck. When their latest assignment goes south and they find themselves up against a pack of Alpha wolf cops, Jayna knows this is the end for her but in a twist, she gets rescued by one of the cops who puts his job on the line to get her and her pack mates away from the mobsters. The cautious person in me can't help but cringe at the real world implications of Eric's decisions to rescue Jayna and go undercover without adequate prep but at the same time you have to admire him for going all in. I love his boyish charm, how sensitive he was to her issues and her bond with her pack mates and how his focus was on making her happy. Jayna's loyalty is her biggest strength and with her background it's easy to see how trusting anyone would be a difficult thing for her to do. I'm enjoying this take on the wolf shifter lore - having the wolf gene become dominant as a result of a traumatic event, how the wolves are learning more about themselves as they go and the gradual build-up as every installment reveals a bit more about their world. I really love the characters in this series. I love how Ms. Tyler's heroines in this series shine, how they can go toe to toe with the males and even best them sometimes. I also love that the males are very confident and secure in their masculinity that they can let the heroines take the lead. Whether you are a lover of paranormal romance and/or romantic suspense or a first timer to these genres, this series as a whole is one to not miss. The heart of the pack

Life becomes just a bit complicated for Eric Becker when their latest SWAT takedown turns out to be a pack of rogue werewolves and it appears his ONE might just be one of them. Rather than take her down or arrest her, he hides her, masks her scent and walks away. He has no clue when he does it just what motivates his actions, but you better believe he’s figuring it out real quick like. Instinct and his wolf nature have him tracking her down and discovering just what’s going on. Now he’s doing an off the books undercover op to save his one and her pack from the greed of her corrupt alpha. Things are going to get downright dangerous on the way to putting down an Albanian crime lord and his gang of rogue omega werewolves. Jayna is the heart of her pack of betas. She’d do anything for them. Right now her hands are tied by her alpha. He told them all that he owed the Albanians a debt and they’d only have to stick around long enough to pay it off but lately she’s come to doubt her alpha’s word. She’d walk away with her pack if it weren’t for the fact that they were never allowed to leave the compound together. She learned at an early age never to trust the men in her life the night her stepfather attacked her and she had to fight her way out. Now she has to decide just how far her trust goes when Eric Becker tells her he’ll get them all out. In the Company of Wolves is a fast paced ride on the edge of a violent criminal world. It’ll take everything Eric and Jayna have to fight their way through and every bit of her nonexistent trust to accept that Eric isn’t going anywhere and this is forever. This latest in the SWAT series is a total page turner as usual. If you like paranormal romantic suspense then you’re gonna love this one. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

    An interesting read

This isn't your normal Wolves story, to read this you will have to forget most of what you have read by other authors. Ms. Tyler takes you on a world you have never seen where these wolfs are just starting to know what being one means. This throw me off but once I closed my mine to what the norm is I found this to be a very interesting book. I did find a few things a little over the top but it works well with the story. It starts with a bang and pretty much ends with one. This is an action packed read that moves pretty fast filled with adventure as packs find their way to being the best they can. I have not read any of the rest of the series and most likely had I it would have filled in a few things. This is a standalone but I am guessing you really should read this from the start of the series. I wish I had noticed it in audio I feel I would have liked it better as well as maybe understood more. I am a little confused as to what makes them turn for the first time. If it was in this book I must have over looked it. I would have liked that to have been explained a little better. I was a little surprised to see so many alphas in one place again this is not the norm and you must close your mind to all that you have learned up to this point as the author takes you though the lives of these packs to bring you a different read with many different twist. What I really enjoy was how the pack pulled together to protect each other. They knew what they were doing was wrong but they stand beside each other none leaving the other alone. I enjoyed how the SWAT team worked together and protect those who needed it even when they knew these people were in the wrong but understood they were made to do what they did. You could really feel the emotion between Eric and Jayna. Each finding out things about the other and what other packs deal with. It is a learning experience as these two are drawn together. Jayna not leaving her pack behind for any reason where they go she goes. I did enjoy the read but there is a lot of questions left up in the air for me. I am giving this a 3.5 rounding it up to a 4 star. There are a lot of good parts with lots of action along with dangerous situation that leads to explosive sexual passion. This is so different from anything of this nature that you will ever read. The author takes you on a different course where all the rules have changed and things are very different. Give it a read and see what you think.

A good addition to the series.

I have been enjoying this new and interesting take on werewolves. The mix of law enforcement and military with a slightly new take on the werewolf genre has had me attention. I wondered where this book would go. After all, we had the human girl/werewolf guy done first, then the werewolf girl/werewolf guy thing in book two. So I was curious how things would evolve in this book. So another werewolf girl/werewolf guy book. However, we are finally introduced to Betas and Omegas. The introduction of a different werewolf pack, and them being bad guys, enabled more information on the werewolf world to be explored. The flip of what a "typical" Omega position has been in other series intrigued me. This was a good addition to the series. There was some more world building and we got to get a bit of catch up on the prior couples, but the focus was much more on the romantic couple and their road to the HEA. Jayne was strong, stubborn and loyal. I liked her a lot. But can I just say, Eric the hacker werewolf Harley rider? Want one. Need one even. Cause *fans self*. Yeah. Uh huh. I gave this book 4 stars and look forward to seeing where the next the series takes us. Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebook Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review the book.
