  • A Good Start

This was a good start to a sexy superhero serial. While only 77 pages in length the series is complete, so any cliffhangers only last as long as it takes you to "one click" and get the next one in your hot hands. While I felt the heroine was acting less than intelligent I just reminded myself that not everyone would make the same choices as me. And it's a book. So, I got over it real fast. Same thing with Lightening and Shade. Once that was out of the way I enjoyed the book. I am now happily looking forward to reading the rest of series, which I already downloaded.

  • It was a good series overall.

Anyone up for coffee? While this is far from my first time reading this book, I like the new addition to the book! It was really unexpected but I love it, good job. The characters are well made and rounded, the heroin the touch of humanity that is needed for this superhero romance. I am pretty sure any lady would be in her predicament, with or without the consequences. Not only do I love the romance but I also love the dialog that comes into work, nothing is bland or just there to take up word space, it was all enjoying to read and I recommend this book to people who don't really like superhero drama, like me, I still liked the story line nonetheless. (I received a free copy of this book for my honest opinion and so here it is~)

  • Excited for what comes next

A darn good start of series, as it piques curiosity and leaves you excited for what comes next. It is an intriguing, dirty read full of action, passion and lust. Kathryn meets meets Lightning, one of the local superhumans (aka “supes”) during an armed robbery in a coffee shop. Lightning is the revered superhero of St. Anthony and saves everyone during the robbery. After the rescue, Kathryn’s interview with Lightning leads her into writing an article in a bid to prove herself as a serious reporter/blogger. In the article, she questions Mayor Wilkins relationship with the superheroes and insinuates that there is corruption present. As curiosity gets the better of her, Kathryn decides to investigate further which leads her deeper into danger. Enter The Shade, where Lightning is the local hero, The Shade is the epitome of villain. The one is revered and the other feared. The only similarities being their glowing blue eyes denoting them as superhuman and that Kathryn becomes both their focal point. This book is well written and although edges towards being on the darker side, there is a hint of humour (very slight) which does lighten up things a bit. It is a short, fast, erotic read which is focussed around Kathryn. The final chapter is from The Shade’s POV which gives us a small glimpse that all is not as it seems. It ends in a cliff-hanger and I can’t wait to read what comes next. Thank goodness all the books in this series have now being released. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

  • Fabulous and Favorite series

This is one of my fav series of all time. Why? First of all, I was an avid reader of comic books as a child and teenager, so this series being based on supes (not so much superheroes) made it super-juicy, specially since it's not a common theme even in the fantasy/urban fantasy genre. Second, the h is a plus size woman, which makes her more relatable to me (not every woman can relate to tall, slim and super-model types), and the cherry on top of the cake is there's not just one MMC but two and the h is the fortunate recipient of both heroes' attentions. They are the perfect alpha male characters with just the right touch of dominance, hotness and masculinity * gush This series is a combination of mistery, action, intrigue and smut. I loved the conspiracy sub-plot as much as the romance/erotic part in this series, and they're fluidly integrated with one another. The world building around the supes' community is absolutely original, no gamma radiation or dark matter explosions here to explain the origin of the supes...you'll have to read these books to know more, but if you're into Urban Fantasy you'll love this. There's not one single boring line in Darkness, the rhythm is dynamic and the hotness of the chemistry between the main characters is volcanic level hot. I have read the complete series at least three or four times already and I keep enjoying it every single time. That's why I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to dream about a fantasy world where super-alpha hunks take your breath...and your panties away. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
