    Wedding

Well written fun with no real substance but what do you expect for a Christmas read. Surprised it got such a good review in the Spectator, but fun all the same.

    Jeeves and the Wedding Bells

Sebastian Faulks produced the perfect Wodehouse homage. Thoroughly enjoyable thoughout. A book I am sure of which Wodehouse himself would have approved and enjoyed. The spirit of Wodehouse wit lives on.

    Very good but.

I enjoyed this book and felt PG's presence but the sprinkle of magic was missing. That said I would definitely purchase another "homage" by Mr Faulks.

This book saw me through a partucuarly nast bout of gastroentiritis and the obligatory 48 hours off work that comes with said illness. I'd not read any PG Wodehouse previously but had read Faulks before and knew he was good for a yarn. A newspaper review said the book was funny and I desperately needing cheering up. It worked; this book is laugh out loud, warm smile in your belly, love the world funny. Can't measure it against the originals but it certainly stands alone as a great read.
