  • Completely LOVED this amazing and swoony read!

Wow. This book was so good that I'm not sure I can even accurately express how I'm feeling right now. It had everything - love, sadness, drama, hope, tragedy, humor, mystery, swoons, and of course, steam. I was sucked right into the story from the start and only put this book down when I absolutely had to. Even still, I burned through it and am now experiencing a serious book hangover. The story revolves around incredibly sweet and all around good guy Noah, his brooding and mysterious bad boy brother, Sawyer, and Amelia (Mel), the woman both brothers want as their own. Some readers may have issues with love triangles, but this one for me, really worked. I liked that all 3 main characters aren't perfect and have their own demons and baggage to deal with. Noah probably came the closest to saint hood with all his swoony moments and philanthropic heart, but it didn't feel contrived and only made him more adorable. I hurt for Sawyer and everything in his past that's tormenting him, and savored the gentle and vulnerable moments where he showed his true self. I felt just as torn and confused as Mel, sorting through the emotions and wrestling with the pain and fear of ever driving these 2 brothers apart. I can't say for certain who I'm shipping at this point, since I think both guys have qualities and traits that I think Mel needs. If I really had to choose though after only reading this book, then I would say Team Noah. :) I found the secondary characters in this book just as fun and amazing. Belle was a little too bubbly at times, but it's what makes her friendship with Mel work. They balance each other and they both stand by and support each other above all else. Throw hilarious Anna into the mix and that's definitely squad goals. I loved the entire Weston family (especially little Saylor) and of course, the other members of BAD, Wyatt and Darren. Everyone genuinely cares for each other and I loved how absolutely normal the family was despite the fame and success of the boys. There were perfect moments of comic relief (oh, Rhymin' Rieanne I could have read a whole chapter about you!) and just enough drama and angst to keep the reader guessing. This is the first book I have read from D. Kelly, but I thought her writing was perfect. She wrote some seriously swoony moments and the song Just an Illusion had my heart breaking. The snippets from the present, weaving together with the past, left me wanting more and hello, that ending (even though I knew it was coming) just killed me in the best way. This book was just what I was looking for and I cannot wait for the next book! Is it 2017 yet?! *Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this ARC free of charge*

  • A MUST READ Rock Star Romance!

When 28-year-old best-selling author Amelia "Mel" Greyson tags along to the BAD (Bastards and Dangerous) concert with her best friend Belle who is doing an interview with them for her magazine she is not a fan. When she meets the band and immediately wins over the band by putting the sexy lead singer, Sawyer Weston, in his place Mel and Belle are offered an amazing opportunity - Belle will do once monthly features about BAD's upcoming farewell tour in her magazine and they want Mel to travel with the band on their one year tour and write the official book on the band. In exchange, the publisher of the book will also contract her bestselling self-published novel and coordinate a book tour for her to coincide with the band's tour. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Mel but in agreeing to go along for the ride she'll have to put her troubled childhood as the daughter of two rock legends - whose relationship had as many highs and lows as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love - behind her once and for all. Mel has instant chemistry with Sawyer but she pushes him away, chalking it up to his playboy rockstar ways, for the sake of professionalism but as she gets to know the band and spends time on the tour both Sawyer and his brother Noah begin to develop feelings for her. But which one will she choose? Sawyer, the sexy bad boy with demons of his own? Or Noah, the nice, do-gooder type that always says and does the right thing? At the same time Belle and BAD's drummer, Darren grow close but what will happen when a surprise changes everything for both of them? As Mel makes her choice between the Weston brothers and allows herself to fall in love, a crazy ex of Mel's new guy reenters the picture and turns all of their lives upside down. The ex's instability soon shows that she's not willing to let Mel have him... even if she has to go to deadly means to tear them apart. Let me start out by saying I LOVE rockstar romances. What woman hasn't fantasized about being with a rockstar at some point in their life? Just An Illusion - Side A grabbed me right away and I devoured half the book in one sitting eager to see if maybe, just maybe Mel would end up with the brother I think is perfect for her. I was rooting for Sawyer from the moment I first read the blurb for Just An Illusion. What can I say? I've always gone for the damaged ones. Even though Noah really doesn't do it for me I could see that he loved her so much, and he was easy to like so I could see why Mel was drawn to him. I loved this story and I enjoyed reading about all these amazing characters. Just An Illusion is sexy, addictive, and emotionally satisfying. By the end, you'll be dying to read the next book and see how everything turns out. I thought the writing was excellent and right up there with Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series, Jamie Shaw's Mayhem series, and Emily Snow's Devoured books, so if you love a good rockstar romance, Just An Illusion is a definite Must Read!

  • A Must Read

I volunteered to read a copy of this book. I did not receive any form of payment and this is my thoughts and only my thoughts on this story. This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. I look forward to reading many more. I was sucked in to this story from the beginning and when I was not happy when it ended. I wanted more! I needed more. Amelia Graysen goes to a concert with her best friend who loves the band B.A.D and is a journalist who is there to get an exclusive story from the band. Amelia isn't a fan of them but she goes because Belle asks her to go. Amelia is torn between Noah an Sawyer Weston the brothers in the band. This Rocker Story has it all! I loved how the author wrote this story. I think everyone who loves a good rocker story should one click this book because its worth it. This has one hell of a cliffhanger and I need the next book like last night after I finished reading this one. I personally wish Amelia picked the other brother. I look forward to Just an Illusion Side B early next year

  • I reallu LOVE this book. Fast-pace and steamy read

I received and eARC of this books provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. That doesn’t affect in any single way my thoughts and rating on this book. Amelia Greyson: a woman that grew up around the music industry with her parents. Seeing how they love it each other like there was no tomorrow had a huge impact in her life. At the point where there loves suffocating, and things started to go wrong. She started dating Eli back then and more thing kept happening in her life at a young age. A 28-year-old best-selling author goes with her best friend to an BAD concert to do an interview for her magazine BAD (Bastards and Dangerous): Huge band with a great future in hands. And one day they decided to take their career to another level by creating a book. By that they do their research and with a miracle they come across Amelia. More thing happens in their life’s that they want to share. And for real to know even more you need to buy this book. Cause is coming along really good. I assure you that if you are a rock band or any band fan you will get a view in their minds of what they do every single day and what they have to deal.

  • Amazing!

Let me just by saying that I absolutely love Author D Kelly's previous books and this book has just joined them!!! The characters are captivating each in there own way and also together. Such a brilliant job on their story! Amelia is awesome & super independent which I high-five her for. Sawyer & Noah, while brothers, are so opposite but both equally yummy. And then we have the other members of guys band that are great supporting characters. And Bella! She cracks me up. Amelia's bestie who is like her sister from another mister. I'm not gonna lie, I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen and um...yeah, not so much! Lol I swear D. Kelly is the queen of making you think you know what's what, when really you come to find you don't know squat! 😂 Love it!!! Always has me on my toes. Can't wait for the next book!!!! So if you can't tell by now, this book is a MUST-READ!!!!
