  • Dystopian World Romance

In a world gone mad Trace Justice, a member of Vanguard, is dealing with intense side effects from contracting the Scorpius virus. His partner, Sami Steele, is keeping secrets from those in Vanguard but when she realizes Trace might not make it if she doesn’t share her biggest secret things change. Both Sami and Trace are drawn to one another and act on their attraction but have no idea how it all will work out and whether or not Trace will live long enough for them to have a future together. I really liked this book and was eager to read it after having already read books one and two of the series. Trace was a handsome charmer in the first two books but after contracting the virus becomes quite a bit darker. He and Sami are great together whether on a mission or in the bedroom. There were fights, missions, steamy scenes, contact with the mercenary contingent, gangs, children to save, religious fanatics, bunkers to breach, elite forces to deal with and more in this intense action packed story. I am eager to find out who will have his story told next. Will it be Marcus and Penelope or Damon and April or Greyson and Maureen or someone else entirely? I want to know what Zachary, leader of The Pure is up to and would really like to know if The Brigade still exists and if so how they are doing. There will no doubt be an exodus at some point from Los Angeles with Vanguard moving to the country and much to be learned in a world where everything is so very different. How will they cope once all of the items we take for granted are gone? In a dystopian world nothing is easy and nothing will be easy as survivors learn to cope and move forward and make lives unlike those they once knew. Great series, great novel, great characters – can’t wait for book four! Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. This is my honest review.

  • Loved every page! Had me hooked!

Set in a post apocalyptic world where most of the population has been wiped out by the Scorpius bacterium, Justice Ascending is raw, gritty, adrenaline-filled and totally captivating. I am seriously hooked on this series! I loved every minute of Justice Ascending: it has it all - incredible world building, phenomenal writing, deep realistic characters, smoking hot romance, suspense, action, and a heart-stopping ending. This book focuses on Tace and Sami, who have both been fast favourites of mine in this series, and boy did it deliver. Tace, a charming Texan cowboy, is hesitant to get involved with Sami as he is suffering one of the side-effects of surviving the Scorpius bacterium: his moral compass has vanished and his dark side is revealing itself. (I am seriously considering listening to the audio book just so that I can hear to his Texan drawl.) Sami is a tough Vanguard soldier who is hiding a dark past which could jeopardise her place within Vanguard. Tace is tasked with working with Sami in order to ferret out her secrets, but he has difficulties fighting his attraction to her and remaining focused on his mission. What is she hiding and can he really trust her? Besides the romance, the overall storyline deepens and we get to see more of the Mercs, including Damon and Greyson. Jax, the Vanguard leader, has to decide if he can trust the Mercs enough to work them so that he can access vital medical supplies and fight their mutual enemy, the president and his Elite Force. I loved catching up with Jax, Vinnie, Raze, Lynne and rest of the gang and their witty interactions. This is my favourite book in the series so far, and I can’t wait for the next instalment in this superb series! This book can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading the previous books to gain maximum enjoyment and understanding of the characters and their world.

  • phenomenal

Justice Ascending is another phenomenal book from these series. I was scared in the beginning that the author wouldn’t keep the greatness but she did it again. Sami and Texas their story so different from the previous but amazing like the others. The story is full of suspense unpredictable events so many things happened in the book I was shocked because I didn’t not see them coming. Sami is so different that I thought so much more likable and her love for Texas beautiful. Texas is also so much more lovable he has the part that even he didn’t know that he have and he is amazing person. I hope the author continuous to write another amazing book from series I can’t wait to read it and to see what happens next. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
