  • Kade's Dark Embrace

I really loved this series beginning with Kade. I bought the series and then the audio books for most. All the characters are unforgettable, from Sydney, stubborn good cop, sexy lady to Tristan hot werewolf friend with benefits, to Kade who is the sexiest Vamp I've every read about. The story is a complete book with an epilogue that sets you up for the next book, however it is the complete story. This book one (stand alone) just makes my mouth water to start book two. I liked the audio so much I bought book two as as a single book to get the audio even though I have the boxed set. The series of murders appear to have supernatural killers. Kade is in charge of an immortal police force. Sydney is none too happy that he is put in charge of the case and she is supposed to follow him. Right--Sydney is not a by the book cop and even when the danger comes way too close she refuses to comply. Kade is a very powerful Vampire, not only that he wants and plans to have Sydney. Reading the two strong characters battle their chemistry as well as the bad guys is a great read. There is plenty of steam and characters you know you want to see again.

  • Needs a proper rewrite

Once again, I’ve come across a book that insists on too many points of view, with more than one point of view within a section. Also, the plot needs serious attention. There should be more to the story then the constant reiterating of, “why am I so hot for him?” The various viewpoints that continued to change back and forth made it hard to identify what character is doing the thinking. Character work needs to be done so that the reader actually cares about their fate. Thankful it was a free ebook

  • Solving a paranormal homicide...

just became smoldering hot. Ok, I’m going to be honest here. I saw “paranormal", “New Orleans,” and “erotic,” and said, “ok I need to read this one before I review Jax.” It certainly didn’t hurt that the book is [censored] at the moment. I’m not sure if it’s always [censored], but if you’re like me and want the chance to see where this series started now is a good time to do it. Having read it, I can tell you, you will not be disappointed if your reading tastes are anything like mine.... Vampires, werewolves, witches, voodoo, mages and [censored] heroines… definitely my kind of read. Kade’s Dark Embrace starts out in Philadelphia. So the first thing I was asking was… “Hey, I thought this book was about the Immortals of New Orleans?” Well, it is silly! Have a little patience. Sheesh! Sydney is a detective for Philadelphia homicide and the story has to start somewhere. This is one smart mouthed, [censored] detective and it’s not her first ride at the rodeo. She has a few scars to prove it. What amazed me about Sydney is that her previous run in with a tiger shifter hadn’t turned her totally against all paranormal creatures. She may not want to hand her case over to the Paranormal City Alternative Police or P-CAP for short, but she has no problem hanging out with paranorms. In fact, her regular [censored} call is with the werewolf alpha of the city, Tristan. (Note to self: read Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves.) She’s also learned to gear herself up for run-ins with the preternatural set… silver bullets, chains, and stakes are but a smattering of her arsenal and she knows how to use them. When Kade Issacson shows up at her latest homicide scene wanting to claim authority over the case for P-CAP, Sydney lets her mouth spew. It doesn’t matter how pretty this nice piece of eye candy is, he is not taking over her case even if he does have her [censored] in a total uproar. And, if there is one thing Sydney knows, it’s that Mr. Kade Issacson is not a detective with his fancy shoes, tailored suits and chauffeured limo. Kade is instantly drawn to the detective. While regular [censored] partners are nothing new for Kade, actual lovers have been few over his centuries as a vampire. Wanting to claim someone as his own… never happened before. But before there can be any claiming, Kade has to make sure his headstrong detective is kept alive, especially with the nasty piece of work he thinks they are dealing with. Vampiric vodun priestess ex-lovers are not a thing to scoff at and this one is out to claim him whether he wants her or not and at the expense of anyone who gets in her way. So when the threats get a little too close to home in Philadelphia, Kade takes Sydney on a hunting trip in New Orleans. Being the head of the paranormal community in New Orleans certainly helps. I’d tell you more, but umm nope. You’re going to have to read it to find out for yourself. I will tell you that the vibes these two have going for each other are explosive. The [censored] will leave your [censored] wet and have you regularly fanning yourself. The story is fairly fast paced. The suspense and thrills will definitely keep you engaged. So, why haven’t you picked up your copy yet? [This review has been heavily censored to meet Kobo's standards (which are very subjective and not clearly defined.) • "Kade's Dark Embrace"

Very fast paced and exciting paranormal romance. A very good 1st book to a series. It combined police work, both human and paranormal detectives working together, reluctently at first, so that they not only solved the mystery of several paranormal murders, but brought two lonely people together. Even though they were from two totally different worlds, they soon learned how to work together successfully but also found passion and true love along the way. I can't wait to continue the series!

  • Always action

Good little story made up of various supernaturals. Liked Kade as a main character and enjoyed Sydney as a strong heroine.
