  • Too pork heavy

The book does a decent job at making the keto diet accessible to people trying to navigate it, hitting on all the right best practice recommendations and guidelines. Grocery lists are always helpful and take a lot of the thinking out of it. Unfortunately I found it virtually unusable as many of the recipes have pork-based ingredients which is a big no-go zone in my home. Yes, there are some non-pork options but you have to do a lot of jerry-rigging to the diet (bacon and bacon fat is VERY difficult to replace successfully) and I am sure the macros will not be the same (an important thing to manage in the keto diet). I appreciate that the author(s) love pork, but being that it is such a controversial food that is restricted in many cultures, some more attention to viable non-pork options should be given. Horses for courses, I guess, but I will keep exploring different options more suited to our dietary needs.

    Thanks for your feedback!
