    Kiss The Bride

Kiss The Bride is more than romance, it's also about relationships, family dynamics, and secrets, and how they all weave together to shape the present. I really liked the main characters, Magdalena (Mags) and Jake. They are both mature and meet changes and challenges in their lives head on. Especially Mags. She's back in Marietta at last, despite her fears, for her mother and her daughter. When Mags pairs up with country singing superstar Jake to sing at a wedding, there is an instant attraction for both of them that quickly evolves into more. Although it is quick, I felt that the speed of their relationship was believable, especially since it is not all smooth sailing. Mags' fears and secrets might threaten this new found relationship, but I like how Jake is persistent, wants to know all of Mags, and he doesn't let her push him away easily. For a short novella, there is a lot of character growth. There is a lot going on in Kiss The Bride, but Rachael manages to write smoothly and keep the focus on Magdalena and Jake, and the issues that arise for them. I liked being back in Marietta where I feel like I know everyone! Kiss The Bride is part of a series, but if you read it as a stand alone it is just as strong. I liked that Rachael touched on family and small town dynamics in Kiss The Bride...I felt that this gave the story an added dimension and made things even more interesting without bogging the story down with unnecessary details or characters. I'd recommend Kiss The Bride to romance readers looking for a fast paced novella that will leave you feeling good!

    Sweet Second Chance Romance

"Kiss the Bride" by Rachael Johns is book five in the "Montana Born Brides" series. This can be read as a standalone. If you read them all, you will get to know more about all the characters. This is Magdalena Davis and country music singer, Jake Kohl's story. Magdalena left fifteen years ago when she was seventeen and pregnant. So for now, she is back in Marietta with her teenage daughter dealing with her mother's battle with cancer. Also, she wants to repair the relationship with her parents. Jake always writes his own songs, but lately has been going through a dry spell. He has been asked to sing at a celebrity wedding in Marietta. He just wants a normal life, but agrees to sing in this wedding with a co-singer from Marietta. Jake hosts a tryout to select a co-singer for this wedding. Magdalena is selected. From the start there is a physical and emotional connection between them. Their romance was really sweet and very passionate. Will Magdalena be able to move on from things in her pasts for a chance at true love? I really enjoyed this story. This story includes a sweet romance, dealing with family dynamics, forgiveness, and undeniable chemistry. The storyline flowed really well and I didn't want to put it down. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

    Loved it!

I've read most of the Montana Born Brides series and this is another good one. Single mom Magdalena's sister and daughter convince her to audition for country singer Jake Kohl and the chemistry is sizzling the instant she starts to sing to him. Magdalena has kept a secret for 15 years about her daughter's birth and she must learn to trust in Jake's love. A perfect blend of sexy and sweet. As with all the stories based in Marietta, you encounter characters from previous books and get to see how their lives have progressed after their love story. Well worth a read.

    Sweet but Sexy

What a wonderful addition to the Montana Born Brides series, this is a book that I could not put down. A sweet but sexy story of Mags and Jake, both that will be singing at the big wedding of Marietta. Neither were looking for love, but there is an instant chemistry between these two. Well developed characters, love the patience that Jake exhibits with Mag and her secret from her teenage years A quick read that will leave you smiling for a long time. Highly recommend this story.
