  • Lamentation A Shardlake novel vi

I had been waiting for another shardlake story for, what seemed like, years: it didnt disappoint. As usual the author takes you through the roller coaster that is his life.

  • A real page turner

A great book. Sansom doesn't believe in quantity but quality. He researches what he writes about that provides a reality that enhances the suspense and intrigue that makes him a great writer.

  • Lamentations

As usual, CA SANSOM does not disappoint. The author places the reader in the centre of the action, and knowing that the story is historically accurate, even though the dialog isn't, hey it IS a novel, makes the story so much more poignant . Hope there will be another in the series.

  • Kate is great

Good read, can't wait for next instalment. Political thriller at it best with that Tudor touch makes it extremely engrossing

  • Lamentation a Shardlake Novel 6

I love the setting in Tudor England at the end of Henry VIII reign. Dangerous times for religion. A huge gap between the rich and the poor. The main character lawyer Matthew Shardlake is a compassionate man who gets into all sorts of threatening situation because he agrees to help the then queen Katherine Parr. All of the Shardlake books are a good read for those that like historical fiction based on fact with a large dose of mystery and suspense.
