    Australian psyche

Wintons language carries you in the same way the sea carries you - langorous, violent, soothing and frightening. All part of the lived experience. It's easy to see how the unique West Australian beach life has shaped him as a person and as a writer.

    My life how I feel

Tim's life and feelings about the ocean are very similar to mine, except mine are mainly around surfing, where his are much more broad. How he always has to at least see and be close to the ocean must be the feelings of many like minded people. Love the whole book.

    Interesting

I found it painted an tantalising view of the western coast of Australia. Not actually a story more a collection of memories.
