    Loved it

Loved this completely entertaining small town romance! Lia Riley is a new to me author but she has gained a new fan with her quirky characters, writing style, and heartwarming storytelling. In this book Annie returns to Brightwater. A place that holds very few fond memories so the sooner she's on her way back out of town the better. Only one problem, oh so sexy Sawyer Kane has never forgotten Annie and now that she's back, he plans to do everything he can to get her to stay. This one will touch quite a few places in your heart, making you smile, laugh, and cry but in the end making you very happy you read it. I highly recommend it.

    Loved it~

MY REVIEW: 5 Stars! An absolute delight. Annie Carson has returned home to ready the family’s land to be sold. She encounters her former flame, Sawyer Kane, the boy who broke her heart in high school. Their families are sworn enemies, so it has always made being friends a little bit of a problem. Grandma Kane is determined to keep the family feud going, despite Sawyer’s attraction to the girl. They’ve always longed for each other, despite going their separate ways. Sawyer is darned near perfect. He’s part town sheriff, part cowboy, and such a romantic. He knows he has to be patient, but things he says and does will make you fall absolutely in love with him. Even though he had previously broken Annie’s heart, when you see his side of the story, you forgive him without a second thought (if only Annie could be so quick to forgive and jump into his arms…). Annie is kind of adorable. She is very easy to relate to as a single mom, always trying to do the best she can for her son, and worried that she’s doing it wrong. I wanted to hug her and be her best friend. The cast of surrounding characters really filled out the story. Grandma Kane is kind of a pain, but kind of funny in how far she takes the feud. This is a fantastic romance with a little heat tossed in. I adore Sawyer. I enjoyed the author’s writing style. I will definitely look for more books in the Brightwater series. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet second chance at first love!

There is something special about a first love. Even ten years apart, neither can deny the pull towards the other. Annie is a bit of a mess trying to get her life back together after her divorce, and her hilarious blog post drafts reflect that. Sawyer is sexy, sweet, funny, patient and most importantly - head over heels in love with Annie. I loved they way he accepted her son, Atticus, so easily. The scenes between them are tender and sweet. Light second chance romance complete with a 150 year old feud between Sawyer and Annie's families. Can't wait for the next book in the series! 4.5 stars I received an ARC via Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

A character I can totally connect with.

I have to admit that this story caught my eye with the Pinterest Perfect bit in the blurb. I love my Pinterest boards. They were one of my favorite Social Media sites (up until the whole pay to boost pins has recently started.) They remain my go to sites for crafts, books, jewelry, quotes, jokes and much, much more. Plus, our heroine is a blogger. Booyah! Score one for a character I can totally empathize and connect with. Annie is back in her hometown to fix up the family ranch so that it can be sold and the profits split between her father, her older sister and herself. She plans to move her and her young son Atticus (with a nod to one of my favorite Classics), to San Francisco to be near her older sister, as their father wants to move to New Mexico to be near an artist colony. But being back in Brightwater is tough, especially with the stigma of being a "Kooky" Carson still hanging over her head. But our hero, Sawyer, has other plans now that Annie is back. He wants to convince her to give him, and them, a real try; an opportunity to see what might have been. And oh, how I liked Sawyer. I especially liked that he didn't try to go all "Alpha" on Annie. It was more the gentle wooing of her with patience, understanding, and true affection. Don't get me wrong, as Sheriff of Brightwater, I am sure that he had his Alpha moments, one with a cousin comes to mind, but not with Annie or Atticus. And that's where the truth strength of this romance was, with Annie and Sawyer's interactions. There were some very interesting side characters throughout, that I can totally see getting their own chance to really shine in a later book. Plus Grandmother Kane. Oh, I just know we will be seeing more from her. I had a lot of fun with this book and gave it 4 stars.

    Swoonworthy!

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest review Going into this book, I had no clue what to expect. I had read the Off The Map series prior by Lia Riley and loved them so I had to jump on the chance to be able to read and review this one. What I found was the most amazing book of rediscovery, selflessness by both Sawyer and Annie and undeniable love and chemistry between these two. As we follow Annie’s journey coming back to Brightwater, she is plagued with trying to find herself again. The ups and downs that she faced were so real of a single mom. When she meets Sawyer again, you can feel how much history and chemistry the two have. The banter between the two made me laugh, cry and yell sometimes because both were so stubborn at points. But when they came together it was pure magic. Even with granny’s interfering! In the end you have a beautiful story of rekindling first love and being with the one your heart belongs to no matter what happens or what you have to give up to get there. I found that though this book is third person and had to get back into that groove, it was utterly amazing. The flow of the story, the supporting characters, the flawless descriptions made this book a winner! I laughed so much at points. Is it time for the second one????
