  • Tedious

This was not what I was expecting. It is a short book and a good deal of it was how he studied to be a librarian, how he went at interviews. How he was trained on the job. I was hoping to read interesting tales about librarians and their clients - nope, this is boring.

  • Not as advertised

This is not a collection of funny anecdotes about working in a library. It’s more of William recounting his experiences, how he tackled different problems; a guide, if you like, to working in a public library. As a librarian, I can see that the book rings true. We have all fought with the air conditioning, dealt with stroppy customers, funny smells, and peculiar reference questions. Even although I usually enjoy reading about libraries sorry William, this just isn’t all that interesting.

    Thanks for your feedback!
