  • Lime Street Blues

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It covered so many years in my life and could relate to most of them.

  • Music and life

I really liked this. The characters were really well formed and felt real. The whole story is centred around music and this was a lovely theme that explored the ups and downs and changes in the music scene over the 50s, 60s and 70s. It was a nice insight for me because I don't know much about music during that time. The book was a good way to bring me into the energy of those decades and explain how it shaped and moved people and was shaped and moved by events during those years. Lime Street Blues doesn't try to be a fairy tale or a tragedy. It doesn't focus on only those of one background or one type of family and it doesn't try to make all the characters too obviously different or similar. Music is the thread that links them and makes them happy or brings them down.

    Thanks for your feedback!
