  • Brings history to life

What a journey! Who is to say that taking orphans to Canada was right or wrong - at the time it seemed like a good idea. I loved how this brought the dilemma to life.

  • Wonderful book

A story full of courage, joy and sorrow, of people trying so hard to help children, and the children they tried to help

  • Disturbing but informative

The story is riveting. What happens to these children is disturbing and Canadians need to know. A must-read. Would recommend.

  • Riveting sad

Such a well written story, though fictional, a clear account of what happened to all those children. And very timely, with so many impoverished destitute children orphaned or sent by their parents in search of a better life. They suffer the same horrors and abuse as the children in this story and we know nothing changes.
