    Lizzie

This book had you captured in time before the war, with an East End couple, and how they lived or not together, how Bobby ended up in jail with his dealings, and at 17 and not married Lizzie had to visit a back street abortionist, how that impacted on her life with no kids of her own. But at the war started she ended up with her sister living with her as she was bombed out and her husband had been killed in merchant navy. Lizzie went through the war mostly spent in the tube station as safety for when bombs went off. Lizzie brought her sisters children up as she left them with Lizzie. She done all she could for them, after the war up turns her sister again with another 2 sons that Lizzie brought up. All this time at first Bobby was running away from getting called up, but they caught him and back in prison he went, he learnt to do tic tackle away of using a special way of dealing for bookies on the race courses. He had always had the eye for the ladies and was always going away with one or other of them. Lizzie's sister's oldest daughter got pregnant whilst they were taking cover in the underground, after the birth of the baby. She was found dead in there old home as she didn't want to go the tube. Lizzie along with Bobby adopted the little girl called Carol. They lived all over the place, the time before last Lizzie saw Bobby he came home one night with a bullet wound and a few more wounds, he got one of the kids to drive him to the coast to get away
