  • Intrigue & laugh-out-loud humour

Who says sarcasm is the lowest form of wit? Suits me, especially when uttered by Jackson Lamb. More please, Mr. Herron, but you’ll have to curtail his smoking & drinking (by a little bit!) if we’re to enjoy, as I hope, Jackson’s leadership of the slow horses for many more years.

Thoroughly enjoyable. First rate writing by a first rate writer. If you haven't visited the shabby world of slough house yet then try it. You might need a tub afterwards though.

Great plotting, some of the best dialogue and wry asides since Chandler & the amazing creation that is Jackson Lamb. If you know your Mick Herron, you'll not be disappointed!

  • Herron's Humour Rules

While the plot line is every bit as engaging and the characterrs as entertaining as the previoous Slough House novels, I found myself laughing out loud more frequently with London Rules. Thanks once again Mick Herron, especially for the Lamb.
