    Elegantly written romantic Regency

This is the first book I've read by Anabelle Bryant and I'm so happy that my friend who is a longtime fan introduced me to her books. Amelia is a woman ahead of her time. Beautiful, strong and smart she believes woman need to have a say in their futures. Lundon is tortured with a past that has kept him from loving and building a family of his own. Reacquainted after 10 years by Amelia's brother Mathew the attraction is powerful though forbidden. There are some significant twist and turns that help Amelia and Lunden to grow and work through past hurts allowing them to come together for their HEA. The secondary characters play an important part in the story their sub-plots giving the the story additional depth. However Mathew's machinations in getting Amelia married, while realistic for the times really bothered me. He did just barely redeem himself in the end. I look forward to London's Best Kept Secret Charlotte and Jeremy's story. I received an ARC via Netgalley.

Tragedy tries to keep these two apart

Lunden was such a broken man. My heart went out to him. He needed to find out that love may hurt but was a necessity. I loved Amelia's determination to find her own husband and to torment her brother somewhat for his choices for her. Her views were based on what she saw around her, including the bad. Amelia and Lunden connected so strongly, but neither recognized it for what it was. The secondary characters also need healing and made the story that much better. I look forward to Matthew and Charlotte finding their respective HEAs (hopefully they will come). I recommend this story, and I look forward to more in this series. I received an ARC of this story through Netgalley, and it is also a Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team selection. This is my unsolicited review.

    Great read

Great story, and first book that I have read from Anabelle Bryant. Lady Amelia is being forced to find a husband, or her family will find one for her. Lunden Beckford, Duke of Scarsdale, a good friend of Amelia's brother, has been recruited to help her find a husband. Only problem is that the little hoyden Lunden remembers from childhood has grown into a stunning beauty, but no less a hoyden, lol. An attraction quickly develops between the two, but will they have the courage to follow their hearts? I would say London's Wicked Affair is for sure a buy. It was a fun read, that I didn't want to put down, and I cant wait for the next in the series.

    wicked and emotional

This novel is a fast page turner. Lunden, the Duke of Scarsdale, has secluded himself to his estates since his brother was killed. So many mistakes and regrets of not being able to talk to his brother ,also the gossip he must hold at bay to keep his best friend Matthew and family safe. But his brother, Douglas, has many secrets too, and is not in a close relationship with Lunden. Now Amelia's brother , Matthew ,is hot to get her married and out of his hair, not to mention Pandora the cat, who gets into a lot of trouble that is not really her doing... ! (Matthew hates Pandora .. )But Amelia does not want to be hurried into a loveless marriage, she wants her independence, and the ability to choose her husband for she knows a man will restrict her carefree life. Matt talks Lunden into helping him find a good husband for his hoyden sister.. Things go south in a hurry, and there is a definite spark between Amelia and Lunden from the beginning. . Amelia is very concerned about her best friend , Charlotte, and the mess her arranged marriage is in.. and this is one of the reasons Amelia will not agree to marry a man her brother picks. Especially the man who has 6 orphaned nieces and nephews. Matt is in too big of a hurry to get rid of his sister from his household, I would have liked to know why? One of the things I did not like about Matt was his attitude toward his young sister.. I am looking forward to the next story in this series, which is Charlottes. Anabelle Bryant is a new author to me , and I will be buying more of her books... Passionate love scenes , but not overdone..
