  • Not the rogue you're expecting

I've been impatiently waiting for the next title of the Rogues to Riches series to come out, and I'm so glad it's finally here. We were first introduced to Dahlia in the previous book with Cam's story. I immediately loved her impassioned, crusader spirit. Simon was more of a surprise for me. I imagine it was impossible for him not to be charmed that same vivacious personality but I wasn't sure how they would make it work with his rigid, regimented world-view. It was a joy to watch Simon open up to the world around him. I wish it hadn't taken such a hefty blow for him to understand the world between black and white but I can see that only something that shocking would have sufficient impact. I also really enjoyed seeing Dahlia be the adult in this book, especially since she came across as a little juvenile in her sister's book. I absolutely cannot wait to read the next in the series now that we've had a little teaser what's coming up. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

  • Lady of good intentions...

I think I enjoyed this book in the series the most, so far. I felt a true kinship with Dahlia and her heart for helping the wayward girls. Though, her means of supporting her efforts were not quite so valiant. I also identified with Simon who faces the age old dilemma of choosing between his head and his heart. I thought this story was truly heart-warming and easily held my interest from beginning to end. I can't wait for the fourth installment in this series. Ridley has achieved success with all three thus far, and I am expecting no less from the fourth. *I received a complimentary ARC of this story in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

  • Historical Romance

Lord of the Night by Erica Ridley Rogues to Riches #3 Simon Spaulding, by-blow of a Marquess, has always had issues with the caste system of society. He is out to set right the wrongs of the world and his code of honor allows for no shades of gray. When he first meets Dahlia Grenville he is stunned. He finds himself returning to spend time with her and the girls in her boarding school as he chases The Thief of Mayfair. His hope is that bringing in this thief will provide him with a promotion none of his station has ever reached before. But, what will he do when he finds out the thief is someone much closer to his heart than he thought? This was a book that I can see rereading from time to time. The characters are interesting and multi-faceted. There is internal and external conflict to deal with for both Simon and Dahlia as they get to know one another better. I could not put this book down and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also have to say that there is not one single historical novel this author has written that I have not enjoyed. Need I also add that I am eagerly looking forward to reading book four of the series as soon as it is finished. Hawkridge, Simon’s half-brother, will be starring in it and I do believe Faith, Dahlia’s best friend, will be his to win. Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars

  • Lively, Spirited Historical Romance!

Protecting, nurturing and instructing flow easily from Dahlia to her students. Obeying the laws which benefits all is Simon's belief as a bow street investigator. Feeling develop between them. Each showing the other the way to fuller and richer lives. Lively, spirited historical romance with a few twists. Enjoyable from beginning to end! 4 1/2 stars. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
