  • Very interesting and un-put-downable.

A Royal Spyness Mystery #13. English couple in 1935 takes their honeymoon in Kenya. Overall, I really liked this book. The constant reference to status was wearisome but that was the way it was in England in the early 1900s. But the way non-whites were treated was horrible - although again it was (and still is) reality. It took a while to get to the murder but when it did the story got even better. I was completely surprised by who the murderer was. This author writes beautifully. Copyright August 2019.

  • Interesting insight into pre war southern Africa mi

Beautifully written. The sounds and scents of South Africa between the wars we're vivid. The behaviour of Europeans to Africans was shocking. The puzzle was unfathomable to the end.
