  • nice debut

I have read this author's newer books but had the opportunity to purchase this her debut series so I was all in. While this is a series it's standalone with carryover characters which is nice because no cliffhangers or need to read on. Although I can say the series does get better. There is some steam and detailed scenes and language but they don't take away from the story. It isn't a favorite because of Sara. Really got tired of how whiny and insecure she is. I can say she does get better as the series progresses. This one didn't really do it for me but it was good for a debut novel. I look forward to more.

  • Cute Romance

After a bad break up with her fiance, Sarah Dupont is starting her life over in Napa Valley’s wine country. She’s setting up her own cafe and feeling very good about her future. Actor Jamie Santino needs baking lesson to help with a new movie he’s making. Sarah wants no part of it, but she’s convinced to help him out. He’s trouble from the start, but the biggest problem for Sarah is her attraction for the handsome star. Although he has the same feelings for her, things go crazy when a beautiful starlet from Jamie’s past interferes with their budding romance. This is a cute, quick romance. I did get annoyed with the heroine a few times. She jumped to conclusions without talking them over with the hero, which drove me crazy. I enjoyed all the supporting characters as I think a few will be in upcoming books. This is the first in the series and I’d be interested in reading more. Jamie has a few brothers and I’m guessing they will have their own stories as Sarah’s friends will, too, I’m sure. It makes for a relaxing few hours of reading.
