  • "You've put spell on me and I don't want it broken

Naomi and Nathan were enveloped in a magical spell that bound them together forever. Many years went by before the heavens allowed their paths to cross again. The earth, wind and water surrounds Naomi, keeping her safe and one with herself. Her life is full at the library, helping young minds understand the importance of books as well as offering the community a comforting place to gather. She sees the world differently than most people which gives her inner peace and contentment. One thing is missing from her life: the love and companionship of her soulmate. Naomi has convinced herself that she is happy alone, and she doesn’t need a man to make her feel complete. Long ago, in another time, she met a man who had remained in her heart and mind forever. She was a different person then, a carefree young woman who was waiting to let loose and have fun, and she did just that the night she met Nathan. Although many years had passed and many women had come and gone, only Naomi had left an indelible mark on Nathan’s soul. She was his one true love and all the women after her could never measure up. Nathan’s wild and impetuous youth led him to become a hardworking, sexy, silver fox, who puts his family first and his love life on the back burner. You can’t predict the future, but he never thought he would reconnect with Naomi again and instantly feel that he had come home. The only question left unanswered was how to approach Naomi without coming on too strong. There was so much to explain to her, so much of life to share. Would she accept his honesty and take a chance on him, or will she remain closed off, with an impenetrable wall between them? Only time will tell.

  • Absolutely love Ms. Dunbar's stories!

I cannot tell you how much I love L.B. Dunbar's stories! And this story, set in Penny Reid's fictional world of Green Valley is just another jewel in the crown of Ms. Dunbar's successes! Love in Due Time is the story of Naomi and Nathan.  An amazing evening 18 years ago and then nothing...until a chance reunion at a Piggly Wiggly and being "stuck" together. How can I describe Ms. Dunbar's story...it's like a comfortable blanket and a warm cup of tea...yet it has sizzle and heat to keep you turning the pages! I floved diving into this story and didn't want it to end! Naomi is such an interesting and charismatic character.  You can tell that Ms. Dunbar put a lot of research into making her perfect.  And Naomi was! Even with her being a more "seasoned" character (as Nathan called himself), Naomi had an innocence and otherworldliness that made her all the more appealing to me. Nathan, you sexy silver fox!! He is a perfect blend of alpha and swoon! He embraces and doesn't judge Naomi's beliefs and that just makes him more yummy! The surprises and the epic destiny of these two was brilliant and sad at the same time.  You are gonna fall in love hard with this story!

  • Highly recommend

I love the idea of extending the Winston book franchise. This author has captured the spirit of the original books. The characters also have the humour, intelligence and sexiness that we expect from the original series. Can’t wait for the rest of the books to arrive!!

  • Solid romance read for me!

4 stars — This book started REALLY strong, and I was laughing out loud at some of the inner thoughts of Naomi. There were still a lot of things I loved about the story, but I also sort of got tripped up by the writing on occasion. I’m not sure what exactly about it, sometimes I really can’t clarify, you know? But it made it harder to stay connected to the characters and their journey. Naomi was a strange heroine for me. I felt so much for her, what she went through growing up, as well as the tragedies and guilt/shame she was carrying around. But I think the fact that she was so much older, that she had so many years of life under her belt, made it harder for me to understand her lack of movement. She carried an awful burden for 18 years, and as such, sometimes it was like being in the head of a much younger woman. It stunted her growth. I’m not saying it’s not realistic, just that I, personally, had a harder time connecting with her because of it. I enjoyed the silver fox of Nathan as the hero. I appreciated that we got to see vulnerability in this big biker guy. He was sensitive and felt a lot, and I loved how earnestly he pursued Naomi. About the only thing that didn’t quite work for me is that I wouldn’t have minded seeing him interacting with his daughters a bit more throughout the story…they spent more time on the periphery. The romance between Nathan and Naomi was surprisingly sweet *and* steamy. I enjoyed their dates, their little daily interactions, seeing them get to know one another. That poem pretty much sold me on Nathan though, SWOON city. I appreciated the look we got, through Naomi, into the life of a Wiccan, and what some of those beliefs might entail. It was an interesting balance in the book, b/c she was mocked because of it, and even Nathan teased her on a few things, but in general I thought it was presented with respect. I’ve read 3 different stories now in the Smartypants Romance Universe, and it was interesting to see how each author chose to integrate their stories in the world. In this one it felt like the major characters of the Winston Brothers existed very much in the background of the story, and it was more about the world of Green Valley. I didn’t mind this, but I will admit my preference is for more significant cameos…but that’s just me. All in all, this was a solid romance read for me. And I will admit, I really appreciated having older main characters to follow, especially ones not daunted by their age.

  • Do You Get Me ?

This is a great well-written story with amazing characters I love it. I loved Naomi the town librarian that has lived her life differently. I learned a lot from this book about the Wiccan Religion, Naomi's beliefs and practices, the way she looked at life. Nathan is a memory from Naomi's past, good bad and sad. Nathan is just trying to get by working, raising two daughters as a single father, and staying out of the clutches of his former motorcycle club. These two get a second chance to really get to know each other and act on their attraction. Lots of drama surrounds them with MC gang members (and want to be) and the belief that she is a witch. I loved the way the story found the path that was right for this couple in the power of three....Do you get me?
