    Dark, fast paced crime thriller

So this is the second book to the Valarie Hart series following the amazing Killing Lessons. I was excited for a follow up book, as i was not expecting it, but hate to admit Lovermurder did not have the same intensity and detailed graphics of the first book. Lovemurder explores the insight of yet another serial killer, targeting women and torturing them. The book takes a twist I can't say I saw coming. It started a little slower than the previous book, although ramped up towards the end. Saul Black has the ability to provide those moments when you seem to hold your breath, waiting to find out what will come next. The relationship between Valarie and Katherine is captivating, dark and holds the main focus of the book. Overall Lovemurder was still a fast paced, hard hitting crime thriller, leaving you wanting a next in the series.

    Valerie Hart series book 2

After I finished reading "The Killing Lessons" I couldn't wait for the next book in the series and started "Lovemurder" as soon as I could get my hands on it. Sadly I was quite a bit disappointed in this one. I couldn't recognize the brilliant writing and plotting from the first book. Instead it is a lot of sex and couple issues. Not really what I want from reading a thriller. I'm not sure if I want to read the next book about Valerie Hart. I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group!
