    Such a touching story!

Such a touching story! I couldn't put this book down. I loved the dynamic of Frankie & Mack's relationship at the beginning of the story, and I especially loved reading how it evolved. True to form for the Penelope books I have read, this story brings to light several issues that I, personally, didn't know much about but that many people deal with daily. And holy cow, did this book have a lot of twists. I mean, a lot of very unexpected ones. Lots. The emotions between Mack and Frankie were so wonderfully done. You want a story where you can FEEL the love? This is it. I can't wait for Penelope's next book! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)

    Nope....

Didn't finish this book which I have never done, reached page 70 and realised it wasn't going to get better, it is like no emotion was put into writing this book.. Very disappointing considering every single one of her other books are AMAZING.. This one? Not so much..

    Review: Mack Daddy

Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward is a standalone second chance romance told in dual POV between Mackenzie (Mack) and Francessca (Frankie). He's a single dad, she's his son's new teacher. It's been eight years since they parted ways both longing for a different outcome and having to make-do with their lives and move on as best they could, but now, they are back in each others lives and things can either go really well or head straight down the drain. An angsty journey that has flashbacks throughout slowly giving us the full picture of what went down between them all those years ago. Not one word has this woman written that I haven'y loved. Mack Daddy is no exception. Enjoy!

    Great Story!!!

I was excited to read another book by Penelope Ward and she certainly did not disappoint with Mack Daddy. This is such a beautiful, refreshing story that you can't help fall in love with especially Mack the cutest, loving Dad ever. This is primarily about a second chance romance between Mack (Mackenzie) and Frankie (Francesca) as they were "secretly" in love with in college. Things changed the moment Mack discovered he was going to be a Dad and he set out to make that his first priority. Now fast forward 8 years later, Mack has come to realize that he has always loved the beautiful, teacher Frankie and he was on a mission to get her back even though she was in a committed relationship. He was determined but he didn't realize many heartaches and obstacles would present themselves but he never gave up. I applaud Penelope for bringing forth an important topic that Frankie suffered from and was evident in Jonah, Mack's son. It served as an understanding that life is not always easy especially for a child but with the help and guidance of others can be happy and enjoyed with supporting and loving people all around you. Once again I enjoy how this story was told in dual point of view from Mack and Frankie and even get some insight into their past with separate chapters. It gives us more of an understanding how their relationship evolved and how it ended 8 years ago so abruptly. The secondary characters added significance to this story and many humourous outtakes especially Mrs. McGillicutty....just loved her and so did Mack and Frankie. But mostly I enjoyed the "love" of family that was evident through out this book, the fight for it and the fight for each other.....the fight that brings "joy" into our lives.

Mack Daddy will make you swoon!

Mack Morrison and Frankie O'Hara met when they became roommates in Boston. Although they're total opposites, they become best friends. As they spend more time with each, they fall in love, even though Mack has a girlfriend in DC. When everything seems to be lining up for them to be together, Mack leaves Frankie and goes back to DC. Eight years later, Mack is back to Boston and wants to win Frankie back. But there's still unfinished business between them, Frankie is still hurting, and she's also dating someone. Will Mack win Frankie's heart again? Or has Frankie moved on? I loved Mack Daddy! It's a funny, sweet, and sexy story, with the perfect amount of drama. Frankie and Mack's story hooked me from the first page and I couldn't stop reading. I loved the dual POVs and the flashbacks that showed how Mack and Frankie met and how they bonded and fell in love. Francesca "Frankie" O'Hara is a teacher and loves her job. She is very shy around adults but with children she's the best. Eight years ago, she fell in love with Mack. When she thought he felt the same for her, he broke her heart. Now he's back and wants her. But she is still very hurt and very confused. She has a great boyfriend that loves her, protects her, and makes her feel safe. Mackenzie "Mack" Morrison is back to Boston and wants Frankie. He regrets how he left her and wants to win her back. He's now older and wiser and also a father. He believes that Frankie is the right match for him and for his son. He isn't afraid to say what he's feeling and showing how vulnerable he is without Frankie. I loved how he fought for Frankie! Penelope Ward gives us a new book boyfriend and an amazing story. Mack will make you swoon in this story about love, friendship, and trust. Mack Daddy is flawlessly written, making it very easy to connect with the characters and the story.
