  • Mystery, tragedy, love and redemption

At first I thought that this would be a paranormal book but it totally isn't. This is more of a historical romance that has elements of mystery, tragedy, love and redemption. Vladimir is scarred and feeds into the image that he is a monster so that everyone will leave him alone. He had a tragic first marriage and wants nothing to do with women again. But when the daughter of his most hated enemy arrives after being beaten and left for dead, he figures that he can get his revenge. He holds the lady at his castle as a prisoner, then proceeds to marry her. Lady Eden ran away from the machinations of her father and the man she is promised to. She doesn't see Vladimir as the monster that everyone else does. She starts to care for him and even fall in love but can he ever find it in his heart to love again? When she finds out the truth about her father and Vladimir she has to come to some difficult decisions. I enjoyed the intrigue as well as the life and death situations that these characters find themselves in. I will add this book to the long list of winners written by this author.

  • Historical Romance

I did enjoy this book. I don't read many historical romances but I am glad I read this one. Eden escapes one Monster to be thrust into the arms of another or maybe not. Eden is left for dead at Duke Vladamir's castle. After Eden recovers she asks Vladamir to save her. As peace rains at this time against the Vikings, war could start with this relationship. There are lots of secrets that both have to get through. Love will prevail though at one time it didn't seem like it would. There is some very steamy scenes. There is also trust that former between Eden and Vladamir. *I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*

  • Nothing new

I like her writing but this was a typical storyline where mis-understandings lead to unhappy people. I find these stories very frustrating and lacking in imagination, but historical details were interesting as usual, note to American author though, no one in England would refer to "Fall" it's Autumn.

  • Disappointed

This book was a disappointment. I'm a fan of Michelle M. Pillow, but the storyline, details and plot were all over the place. Then she tried to pull it all together in the last few chapters. Even though I bought this at 40% off, I feel I wasted my money. Like her newer books better.

  • Bad To The Bone

Bad🐺🍆⛲💪🔪 To The Bone💀 ADULT Historical Medieval Romance💕 and Adventure. Vladimir, A Viking Warrior made a Duke by King Alfred, cultivates his wicked and evil reputation, with some peasants thinking he can appear and disappear at will. He dresses all in black and looks the part of an evil man with his long, wild hair and scowling countenance. Only the few servants he brought with him from Daneland are loyal and love him. He's actually quite poor and his holding is tiny, he's a placeholder for the 👑King. But why was he made a Duke, over the nearby Earl, who has a vast holding and many knights? When a severely beaten, nearly dead young woman is left on his doorstep, he cruelly debates whether or not to let her die. Is it a trick? His trusted servant prevails, and the woman is taken in a nursed back to health. His misgivings about her are well founded. She turns out to be the Lady Eden💃💋, daughter of his enemy, the nearby earl. He still thinks it's a trick. Meanwhile, her father, who had basically sold her to a wealthy but untitled man, is waiting for a ransom note! He thinks she has been stolen! He is in dire need of the money💰 promised for her hand in marriage👰, but he doesn't know what has happened to her. His Castle🏰 is crumbling and he is getting desperate. So what did happen to her? The Duke spends his waking hours imagining all the ways he can ravish Eden, and his sleeping hours dreaming about it, too. When he finally finds out her father is the hated Earl, the Duke takes matters into his own hands, er, arms! ARC Provided by Booksprout 🌱 This ebook was $5.99 on Amazon at the time of this review. Opinions expressed here are entirely my own. Author Pillow📚, makes the Duke🐺🍆⛲💪🔪 into a supernatural figure among the peasants and most of his household. But he's mostly just a fierce Viking warrior who has lost his wife and is terribly embittered by it and wants revenge.
