  • Great Reading

For some reason I resisted reading these books - probably didn't like the title. That was a mistake - great book, well written and good characters and looking forward to reading the next three in the series. Hope they are all as good - but I still don't like the title!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Enjoyable

As a first novel it works a treat, perhaps too many characters to keep track of but enjoyable nevertheless, also too many mentions of "Grizzled Centurions" OK I'm being picky doubtless the author will progress and find other adjectives to describe his more experienced characters, I will carry on the series as I enjoyed learning about Ceaser's campaigns (although I know how it all turned out) because the book does teach without you realising it. I liked it

  • Marius Mules

Entertaining if you enjoy tales of Rome. Not particularly well written and the editing was atrocious.

  • Marius Mules march on Gaul

Excellent start to an enjoyable series. So realistic it makes your feet ache after a day's March! And the camp still has to be set up; these guys were tough!

  • Awesome

I could not put the book down. There were many twists and turns to the plot. Non-stop action. Even knowing that Rome will win, I was still on the edge of my seat routing for the characters.

    Thanks for your feedback!
