  • Excellent

Thoroughly enjoyable and carefully crafted peek into the lives and background of the Nexus. I always appreciate an inside look into characters and groups when playing a game, and the authors did a wonderful job of making the world and its people feel alive and giving context to the challenges the Nexus faced before we visit it as Pathfinder. 5 stars as well for the moments of surprising humour and grounded sweetness that were expertly weaved into the chaos and political intrigue.

  • A critical MEA primer

This story fills in the gaps in the Andromeda story. It answers questions like why the Nexus leadership is so flimsy and where the colonies came from in a supposedly new galaxy. I was about to give up on Andromeda on frustration but with the background provided in this story came a greater appreciation of the game world. I might even carry on with the game, even though the characters and animation are far less accomplished than ME3.

  • Hard to read, boring

I've already red Mass Effect novels in english (although I'm italian). All previous novels (Greyson saga) where easy, funny and intriguing to read. This instead was boring, difficult, and I gave up after 4 weeks or more, still being at page 235, unable to find myself interested into anything the story tells
