  • Review: SWAT Gen. 2.0 #3: Maybe Swearing Will Help

Maybe Swearing Will Help by Lani Lynn Vale is the third book in one of her latest series, SWAT Generation 2.0 . All stories in this series so far have started with the day the calendar photo shoot is scheduled for a fundraiser starring the SWAT team members. This is Ford Spurlock and Ashe Trammel’s story. Best friends, bitter enemies, lifelong rivals, pick your day and they are one of those descriptors. When Ford challenges Ashe to join the SWAT team she can’t say no, goes to officer training over the winter break, passes and gets a better job with better pay than him. Figures. But the extended time together is making each of them realize that the combustible competitiveness between them isn’t just that - it is also a ton of sexual chemistry and strong affection drawn from there lifelong hate/love friendship. When they loosen the reins on their self-control a little, wonderful things happen between them that surprise both of them. Add in some cat kidnapping, a serial murder case, and some extremely protective family members and you have another wonderful tale from the town of Kilgore, Texas and the mind of the wonderful Lani Lynn Vale. Enjoy!

  • Entertaining

4 Star Review Maybe Swearing Will Help (Swat Next Generation 2.0 #3)  by Lani Lynn Vale    This is Ford Spurlock and MC princess Ashe Trammel’s enemies to friends to lovers story. They have been adversaries since birth, so their history is long and complicated, but underneath it all is a relationship built on friendship. They fight like cats and dogs and yet there is a fine line between love and hate. Particularly as the sexual tension between them is building.   I liked Ford, he is certainly an alpha male who was frustrated and confused about the feelings that Ashe brings to the surface. While Ashe is attracted to him, she knows the smart thing to do is avoid him.   Ashe is shocked when Ford agrees to be Mr March in the charity calendar as she was sure he would say no. Ashe is a strong, feisty young woman that I greatly admired. The banter and humour that arc between them had me laughing and smiling, whilst their chemistry is intense and steamy. The connection between them is obvious to everyone around them.   There were times that I laughed, I cried, I wanted to scream but through it all I was invested in Ford and Ashe’s story. The addition of mystery and suspense added to my enjoyment. Maybe Swearing Will Help was an entertaining read that I enjoyed.

  • Cute Enemies to Lovers

Ford and Ashe’s book was a cute enemies to lovers book. The type where Ford was allowed to pick on Ashe but no one else better touch her. Most of the story was sweet, subtle attraction...just thinking they won’t work. But boy, they so do. Steamy with just a tiny bit of a cat mystery going on. Entertaining and fun to read.

  • An epic friends-to-lovers romance!

This is an epic enemies-to-lovers romance, that has all of that plus everything that we have come to expect from a LLV romance! This is one of my favorite books in this series so far (Yes, I know the series just started, and I know that I will probably say that about each new book!) At least I didn't ball my eyes out with this story! Ford and Ashe's story was just as amazing as I knew it would be! Ashe and Ford grew up together in the MC, from babyhood! Their parents were friends, and they were constantly at the same functions. For some reason, they always rubbed each other the wrong way, pulling pranks on each other, picking on each other, trying to one up each other! There was a certain level of animosity, but underneath, there was a heat that neither would admit to! And when it finally exploded, it EXPLODED big! The story of Ashe and Ford started with taunts and jokes, but under it all, they still had each other's backs, even when they thought they hated each other. It just goes to show that big emotions always have a reason, regardless of whether it is love or hate, and the two emotions are very similar! There was a lot going on in this story, but it was still a very sweet, fun story!

  • So good

Gotta love an enemies to lovers story!! Also love when Lani sets up a longer storyline to flow through a few of the books - which she has done here. Also love how we see “photo shoot” day through each person’s eyes. A definite read!!
