  • Me and You

This was a moving story about a boy and his struggle with being different and his desire to be the same. It tells of a brother and sister who barely know each other making a deep and meaningful connection. It is sad, but written beautifully and is a very real book on many levels.

There is no point reading this book. Everything you need to know is in the synopsis. It is terribly short, just ten small chapters, with an awful ending that does not conclude really any of the issues brought up in the story. It goes too fast, the brother sister barely talk at all. No family secrets are revealed as the synopsis says. The only real secret is that she's on heroin which I knew before I started reading anyway, and the fact that his father tried to teach him to swim once by throwing him in the water. Not a giant secret from my point of view. There was not enough time to develop the characters, to have them learn anything, to have anything really happen. I think this is one of the worst books I've ever read, but at least it was the shortest, worst book I've ever read!
