  • Another good story.....

Another good story by an exceptional story-teller. I never did believe Bodden was cursed -- Richard enriches it beyond measure. Can't wait for the next installment.

  • This kind of novel is why I read.

Paul J Bennett has outdone himself with this backstory of Richard Fitzwilliam. Richard is born without love of his father due to his birth causing the death of his mother. Being the younger brother, he learns of his duties required to serve the Baron (his father) and how to support his brother for his eventual rise to Baron. From a young boy to a man, Richard perpetually tries to earn the love and respect of his father, to learn his role as noble and as Knight. This is a story about the glory and honour of Knights, and also the false glory and honour of Knights. Through his struggles growing up, we learn why Richard becomes the man we eventually know in the Heir to the Crown series. And this story really pays off. At the very least, this is the best of the .5 novels, and maybe the best of the whole series. The Making of a Man? The Making of a Writer.

  • You need to hear this story

Paul Bennett reveals the history behind one of the major characters in his Heir to the Crown series. Totally believable attitudes on all the characters parts, even if some prove to be unreasonable. Much like current times.

  • Great

It was great to see how Richard (Fitz) got to be who he is. I always like reading more about the characters in a good series.
