  • I loved every part of this book!

It is no secret that Elizabeth Haley is one of my favorite writing duos. Their writing, the personality they infuse into every word, the level of humor that has me laughing my butt off, and what they continue to give me in all of their amazing books is just part of why I love them so much. I have loved each and everyone of their books, and I was so excited to learn that they were going to be joining the Misadventures Series. Their books are already so fun and so vibrant, so they were the perfect fit for this series and their book Misadventures with My Roommate was a complete delight. This book made me laugh, it had me smiling so much with the banter and the antics and the personalities of these characters, and it had the perfect level of steam and heat and connection that made this one heck of a love story. What I love about Elizabeth Haley's writing is that they always make their books and their character so memorable. They make their characters so distinctive and memorable, they give them personalities that are unique and special and hysterical, and they never fail to make me laugh out loud or more times than I can count. What they gave me in this book was all of that and more. It was funny as hell, it was witty, it was full of a connection and spark that just wouldn't quit, and they gave me a story that was equal parts for filling and fiery and fun. Reading this book brought me back to what allowed me to fall in love with their writing in the first place. The way that Elizabeth Haley introduces their characters in a way that pulls your heart to them, while you are simultaneously dying in the best way with their banter and colorful personalities. They find the perfect way to balance making their characters fun and a little bit crazy and highly memorable, while also making a very relatable and easy to love. I love to Blake and Gavin. I loved that there was more to them than met the eye, I loved that they both had such great personalities that really meshed together, and I love that I felt their connection pulling like crazy through every word of this book. This story follows the two of them as they become an expected roommates, as they start sharing some very steamy moments, and as they soon realize that they might just be feeling a little bit more than they both bargained for. Elizabeth Haley does a phenomenal job of creating a story that is fun and light, while also weaving in A layer of meaning that I really connected to. I felt a lot for these characters, they were fresh and enjoyable, and I honestly just loved being in this book and experiencing what I got with them. It was fun, it was light, it was them, and in the end it was a fantastic story that I could not get enough of! I Elizabeth Hayley has done it again with the story and I can't wait to read more of their books and to get more of their phenomenal writing. This book is the perfect quick read, it will have you laughing more times than you can count, loving what you get with Blake and Gavin, and in the end it will have you realizing again and again how talented Elizabeth Hayley is. I loved every part of this book, and I can't recommend it enough!

  • sweet

This one was easy quick read with interesting storyline and characters. Although sweet and funny the story has also depth and some deeper meaning. IN this one Blake is the odd one with her unusualness, strangeness, and directives. She is really something. Gavin is just a normal guy making ends with needs. He accepts Blake like she is and their story is really lovely. I loved that although Blake freaked out about pictures she wasn't stupid enough to really run away and destroy everything but came to Gavin and apologized. They are really great together and have amazing attraction, although everything starts on the physical attraction with time it becomes stronger and deeper. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I liked this book as it was concentrating on the mental aspect of the characters; not only sex! Thank you

  • GOT A HOT ROOMMATE YOU WANNA, YOU KNOW?

This is actually my first book from this author. Misadventures with My Roommate is an added installment to the Misadventures series from various authors that can be read as standalone. I've already ready some of the books from this series, and while I can say I've enjoyed and even loved the others books from the get go, it took me past 3 chapters for the story to capture my interest. Now I know I'm not a publish or something along that work, but I'm a reader. A hardcore at that. I've been dissecting books most of my life so at least I know what I'm doing, rather saying at this point. From what I've learned from people I know who publish books, the first 3 chapters of a story is quite essential and must be captivating because that's where you convince your reader that your book can get even better the middle part is where the juicy parts bursts and if you're careful enough and your story did manage not to crash and burn, then your ending is your prize to your reader. That being said, I'm glad I did not unfinished this one, that I carry on reading because, eventually the story did get better. It then becomes quite enjoyable once I'm past the first few chapters. I find myself connectimg with the characters. Although it took a while. But I'm glad I did. The heroine, Blake, she's quirky and blatant. She seems to be a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of person, but really, she's not. Like everyone else, she has reservations. She has a wall guarding her heart that was unnoticeable if you do not know her. I, myself, did not warm to her at first. She has quips that I find dumb-ish and she says weird thing out of the blue. No filter kind of girl, this Blake. But eventually, I warmed to her character. Even understand that she has weirdness in her, and that's fine with me. I think that's what the authors's trying to achieve. It was mentioned in the book that people don't understand her weirdness and it takes a lot to warm to her. The authors achieved that vibe. Fabulous. The hero, Gavin, he's one of a kind. He's all things male, but mostly on the positive side. He's sweet, and patient, and kind, and a true gentleman. I find him endearing, really. Gavin is RARE. The author made a good combination of their lead characters by creating these two because they fit together and even the story. They're one of the reason why I continue flipping pages of this book. The story itself was not something I thought it would be. This book was kind of layered. There's definitely something to peel. I recommend this book to readers who dreams of their roommate so badly . For readers who enjoys flirty banters and weirdness here and there. **I received an Advance Review Copy from the publisher/author via NetGalley for an honest and unbiased feedback. flagcomment · see revie

  • A book you will definitely fall in love with!

I've read a couple of the Misadventures books and was totally wowed by them, so when I saw Misadventures with my Roommate available to request on Netgalley, I just couldn't resist! I've never read anything by writing duo Elizabeth Hayley before, so I was excited to delve in! To be honest? At first I wasn't sure about this book. I was a little put off by Blake's attitude and all round demeanour. BUT – and this is a big BUT! - that feeling didn't last for long (it went by the end of chapter 1 actually, lol)! After that, I couldn't help but fall in love with her quirkiness, wit, and ability to say whatever she was feeling without any regrets! She's just an all round awesome person! And Gavin?! He's just adorable, understanding, and has all the time in the world for Blake - and that's something Blake isn't used to. With both of them dealing with personal issues they end up being just the tonic that the other needs. Gotta say, I absolutely loved this book. 5 shiny gold stars! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
