  • Atmospheric

This is quite a slow burner told primarily by Rebekah who is stuck on a deserted island and fearful for her life and in part by cop Travis who is tasked with finding a different missing person during his final days on the force. We gradually find out how Rebekah came to be in the island through flashbacks in the first half of the book along with finding out how she’s trying to cope in the days since she was stranded there. It’s quite a desolate read with as much focus on her trying to survive there as there is untangling the how’s and why’s. There’s plenty red herrings to keep you on your toes and question who is behind this but it lacks suspense. Overall its a good detailed atmospheric survival read.

  • Missing pieces

Thiz deserves a 20 out of 10. I was so excited to finally get this book, and it exceeded everything. A fantastic story with believable characters. Could not put it down.

  • Frustrating and untakeupable

Tim Weaver, one of my favorite authors alongside greats such as Peter Robinson, Val McDermid and the Icelandics. I was looking forward to a cleverly evolving plot and solid three-dimensional characters. Instead at a quarter of the way through I might as well be at the first page; neither characters or plot have moved anywhere. This is a complete disappointment.

  • GIVE IT A TRY IF YOU ARE A TIM WEAVEER FAN

Tim Weaver if one of my favourite authors. At first I was swayed by the low star rating but as you get into the story I did not want to put it down. Granted it is not as good as his other books but would recommend it if you are one of his fans.

    Thanks for your feedback!
