  • Just Ok...

This is the first book I've read from Juanita Kees. It's the second book in the Calhoun Customs Garage. This wasn't the worst book I ever read, but it also wasn't anywhere near the best. This book is about a NASCAR heroine. There is a lot of racing and techniques mentioned throughout the book, which is why I requested the ARC. I'm a longtime NASCAR fan. Add in a love story and to me that's perfection. However, I did find the technical aspect brought up too much and those that aren't racing fans could potentially find this boring. I personally liked the racing parts of the book. It was more fun. Also, I didn't connect with the insta-love between Trinity and Reece. They both had the same sounding POV and the out-loud POV was bringing up things that were 'thought' not spoken. I didn't care for that at all. I did like that this has a HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. While I just didn't mesh with the author's writing style, I think that you shouldn't base your opinion about this book on my review because there are a lot of good reviews for this book.

  • Good book

Really enjoyed this book. It's different from previous romances I've read. I really liked Trinity from the start and her and Reece are so cute together. I love their chemistry and how they met. Tons of emotions and love in this book. Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

  • A story of family, loyalty and love.

Fast Lane is Juanita Kees’ second story in the Calhoun Customs Garage Series. The first was the oldest brother’s story and now it is the youngest sister’s story, the bookends of the family as we say where I live. While the book is a stand-alone, the contrast between Chase and Trinity is so realistic. He became the mother hen after their mother’s death, as youngest Trinity is the thrill seeker aka racecar driver. However, she falls for someone more like Chase, Reece Balamin, a paramedic and volunteer firefighter. Both of these characters have seen sorrow and are dealing with new ones during this book. Trinity is a strong, woman even with all the older brothers and father watching over her. The safety needed for racing is really emphasized in this book, which was interesting and unknown to me, even though I live in NASCAR Country. However, I could also understand Reece’s concerns too, especially in light of what had happened to those he loved. While this is a romance story from the very beginning with the hot attraction between Trinity and Reece, it is also a story of family, loyalty and making the best out of a terrible situation. The characters are engaging and quite likable, as well as the story keeping me interested. Reece and Trinity may have had an instant attraction but I especially liked how they did not rush the relationship but getting to know each other too. An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • Another Montana Love Story

i was so excited to get to read Trinity's book! I read a wee bit about her in the first book in this series and knew that she was going to be one kick 'em women and she did not let me down. For one thing I love to watch race cars, I mean who in the south doesn't and here is a women who dives the cars! Yes she is ending her rein to come home to Montana to help her daddy... another reason to love this gal. Then we have one hottie of an EMT "Angel" who is also a good guy himself, who she meets at her last race. BUT Fate steps in and she gets to spend time with Reece again back home in Montana far away from the racetrack in Florida. This book touched me in all the places i needed to be touched my heart and in my soul.
