  • Not my cup of arsenic-laced tea

This, particularly in the middle section, falls into the category of adventure/suspense story that bases its suspense as much on the protagonist's feelings about the men in her life (the man she loves but can't be with, the man she loathes but can't escape) as the adventure. I know there's an audience for that kind of thing, but I'm not it. If you are, pretend I gave it another star or two. The adventure itself is solidly done, and the protagonist and her situation are engaging. The new angles on Sherlock Holmes and his world are interesting. Professor Moriarty in particular is depicted with more depth and nuance than is often the case.

  • Brilliant

Brilliant. Good relationship between Anna and Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed the presentation of determination of a woman to become a physician in a man's world and what she had to do to achieve her goals. I enjoyed the relationship with Moritarty and Anna and the mistrust at the same time there was an element of love conflict between all the people Excellent read and I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the next one

  • Great read!

A very good read. I loved the storyline and the description of the characters in the novel. It was difficult to put the book down. I highly recommend it. Great for lovers of the Sherlock Holmes series, with its characters of Sherlock, Dr Watson and of course Moriarty.

  • Entertaining slant on Sherlock/Moriarty.

Enjoyed the f/m story line and the relationships with a visualising era storyline.
