    Good Story

I received a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review from Goodreads R4R group. The main characters in Blue Crush are not new to the readers of the Blue Series as Gen and Lewis were introduced in the first book Deep Blue. As Gen is working at a casino in Lake Tahoe for the summer she meets Lewis. The attraction is immediate but she is not emotionally ready to move on. And Lewis has issues that must be addressed as well. It is an interesting read as it is from Gen’s point of view. The novel gives insight into her past and she shares so much about her past with the reader. She is determined to overcome her insecurities and enters a challenging ‘mudder race’. Lewis is also participating in the race and they begin training together. Of course, they deny the sparks. Gen is much stronger than she gives herself credit for and truly is a survivor. A most enjoyable read—the plot keeps the reader turning the pages to discover what will happen next. You can’t help but want these two characters together. Looking forward to book 3 in the series.

    Vivid, honest writing style

Vivid, honest writing style puts the reader right inside the hearts and minds of the characters. The second in the series, this book is entirely from Gen's first-person POV. This story mostly runs concurrently with the previous book, Off Limits, as Cali and Gen's stories are interwined by their friendship. Each does work as a standalone, but you'll get more out of each story by reading both of them. We met Lewis and his "girlfriend" Mira in Cali's book, and here we get the backstory of their relationship and how it has affected the women that Lewis has dated. Gen is absolutely (and rightly) fed up with cheating boyfriends, so she steers clear of Lewis, despite their intensely overwhelming chemistry, believing that Mira is his girlfriend and therefore his interest in Gen proves he is a cheater. This absorbing story goes well beyond just Gen's romance with Lewis. Gen has serious confidence issues, which are complicated by the workplace sexual harassment she endures and the messed-up family history she has. Both of these issues are worked through, along with Gen empowering herself by training for and competing in a local "Mudder" event. I really liked the way the author explored the conflicting emotions Gen had when weighing the pros and cons of reporting the harassment vs the consequences. In addition, this story is also about the depths of her friendship with Cali, and how that friendship grows and strengthens along the way. The sexual harassment storyline that started in Cali's book is satisfyingly resolved in this story, along with Lewis and Gen's very sweet HEA. The last part of the book leaves off with a bit of a cliffy to launch the next book, which pairs Mira with Cali's brother, Tyler. I'm really enjoying this series, and highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys complex, realistic romances with three-dimensional characters who are not perfect, don't always do the right thing, but manage to work it all out anyway.

    Mountain Man

What a great series. Story line is excellent. Way the story blends with other story is very interesting and a great way to portray the second in series. Would recommend this book in a second.
