  • Wooden but readble

I cringed quite a bit at the melodrama and editorialising. More showing rather than telling would make a big difference. Trust the intelligence and intuitiveness of the reader. The story was strong enough to keep me reading. But I wouktldnt nubuy more books from this author.

  • Mr Chen's Emporium

Delightful. An intriguing read right to the end. An insight into a world long gone but the same prejudices are still here in today's world.

  • A wonderfully engaging read.

A wonderful story with engaging and belieable characters. Sometimes heartbreaking but also with joy sprinkled through, I really enjoyed this story and learnt a bit of history at the same time. Amy is a lovable character and I thouroughly enjoyed her story.

  • Good histrical romance

The story is a parallel tale, a modern day tree changer dealing with grief and a gold rush era tale of forbidden love. The historical details are intriguing and the story is engaging. The characters are lightly drawn and I felt more could have been done with them but the story moves quickly and is a pleasant read.

    Thanks for your feedback!
