4.5 Stars for Must Love Dogs....and Hockey As soon as I read the blurb for this book I was intrigued, I love dogs and I love hockey so this book was always going to be on my radar and I was not disappointed, this story ticked my boxes and I was captivated from the first page to the last line. What a great start to the new Bears Hockey Series featuring the New York Bears professional hockey team. This is book one and it’s Easton Millar and Lilly Evan’s story. What’s not to love about a professional hockey player who just a little bit bad!!, well Easton is that man and let me tell you I fell hard and fast, he is totally swoon worthy and he made me laugh, what more could I ask for.... well Lilly really ups the anti and pulls this story together, she gives as good as she gets, she is sassy, witty and when the chips are down she steps up. I loved this couple so big. Both Easton and Lilly have a past they would rather forget, they both have baggage and their journey is a bumpy one but love isn’t always easy and this couple know that true love is worth fighting for.... What else can I say apart from, if you love dogs & Hockey you will love Easton, Lilly and Otis’s journey. Looking forward to more from The Bears Hockey players.

  • Great start to this new series!

Kelly Jamieson's hockey novels are some of my favorites out there. I was excited to learn that we have a whole new team to love now as well, the New York Bears! This is the first in the new Bears Hockey series and it was a great way to start! Easton has recently been traded to the New York Bears, so while he's trying to settle in to a new city and deal with all of that, he's also learning his new teammates and how to navigate his coach, who is causing Easton all sorts of headaches. On his way back to his apartment one day, he ends up saving a dog and in the meantime the woman who was with the dog, abandons him and Easton is left to care for him. Needless to say, Easton's life doesn't exactly lend itself to easily caring for a dog, but he's drawn to the little guy that he calls Otis. Lilly is trying to rebuild her life. She's recently been fired from her job, and while it wasn't her fault, she knows it's better to move on and try to start again. She's been through a lot in the last few years and she doesn't have the support of her family and friends that she wishes she did. She decides she'll try her hand at a dog walking business and hopes that this will start her on a new path. When Easton and Lilly meet at the dog park, it isn't the greatest first meeting since Otis isn't the most well behaved of dogs and he isn't very nice to the dog Lilly is walking. After learning that Lilly walks dogs, Easton pleads with her to take Otis when he goes on his next road trip. She agrees and it turns into a a more regular thing. Not only that, but Easton and Lilly start to feel a pull toward one another. They've both had their share of loss and neither are looking for a relationship, but will their connection be too much to overlook? I really enjoyed these two characters and I liked how they supported one another and were there for one another. They seemed to really understand the other person and while they were both scared, they decided the leap was worth it. They both found exactly what they needed in the other and in little Otis! I'm looking forward to what's to come in this series if the end was any indication!

Lets be honest here who doesn't love hockey and dogs! As soon as I saw this cover I new I needed to read this book. I love Kelly Jamieson so it was a win on all levels. When Lilly and Easton meet it is really not love at first site but I loved them together. This book is fast paced and it will pull you in the minute you start to read it, it is another great read by this author. It is funny, sweet, and hot, honestly what more could you want in a book. I highly suggest you pick up this book today because you will not be disappointed because it only leaves you wanting more. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

  • Just a bit too long

The title of this book made me want to read it – and I enjoyed it, but it would have been better for some content editing. That said, Easton is a fabulous character – and Otis – oh my word, Otis; I fell in love. I also loved how Easton treats him. The obnoxious coach is stomach-churning and so well-written. And then there’s Lilly, dog walker extraordinaire, with whom Otis falls in love and who is the voice of reason in this book from the start. It’s a fun read with great banter and even greater characters, and a fabulous ending, and it’s definitely worth your time. Oh, and the hockey parts are really exciting in places!

  • Excellent Read - Cute & Heartwarming

I received an advanced reader copy to leave an honest review of this book. I have read quite a few of Kelly Jamieson's hockey romances and this one did not disappoint! The writing style is excellent and easy to follow; no jumping around in the timeline which is great. This book follows Easton, a hockey player with some anger issues, and Lily, who is unemployed and down on her luck. Easton feels like he has lost everything. He has a bit of a tragic past so hockey is his passion and main focus. His current coach however is a unbearable and not just for Easton but the whole team. He has difficulty dealing with that and tends to have a blowup which has repercussions. Lily just lost her job and now needs to figure out a new plan since she has been blacklisted in her current industry. Lily and Easton "meet" in the park when Easton's dog (which he rescued in his building and isn't really his) attacks the dog Lily is walking. Easton feels horrible but knows he needs help with his dog Otis as he has no idea what to do with a dog especially with his travel schedule. Enter a new idea for Lily's future employment as a dog walker. Thus a relationship forms. It takes awhile for Lily to warm up to Easton but eventually their relationship takes off even though neither want a "relationship". Of course things are never easy and things escalate with Easton's coach and with Lily's prior job. Both need to better understand the other to see once if they can take things to the next level. Overall an excellent book. Very fast read, fun and quirky. I would definitely recommend.
