  • Wonderful!

I'm a big fan of Kendall Ryan's books and My Brother's Roommate is no exception. What I loved about this one is the intimacy issues actually lie with the hero, not the heroine, which is a different take on what you'd normally see. I really appreciated that and think it really contributed to the richness of the story. Penelope is in need of a date to her company retreat because she doesn't want to be the only one there solo. Her brother, Connor, suggests that she take his roommate Wolfie and she agrees. Not only because she needs a companion, but she's always had some feelings for one of her brother's closest friends. Wolfie is not only roommates with Connor, but also co-workers. He agrees to go with Penelope, but given his hang-ups with intimacy and relationships, he feels like it will be smooth sailing as long as nothing happens between the two of them. After spending the weekend together, they have grown closer and while it may have been fake dating, they both realize they have growing feelings for one another. Will Wolfie be able to open up to Penelope about his past and the things that happened to him and will Penelope be able to have patience with him? Wolfie was such a complex and wonderful character. He has his issues, but he's sensitive, sweet and respectful. Penelope is a great woman who shows that she has a huge heart and is really driven and caring. These two were so well matched and I really loved how such a sensitive topic was handled and showcased. Wolfie and Penelope were fantastic and this is a story that I would highly recommend!

  • my favorite of all

Wolfie is one of my favorite of all Kendall Ryan’s male characters. Something in his past prevents him from having a “normal” relationship. He doesn’t cuddle and he mostly only has one-night stands or “friends with benefits.” He was so used to people giving up on him. He felt he would hurt Penelope by getting involved with her. With his baggage he felt he wasn’t good enough for her. There were two sides to Wolfie. The closed off man and the caring sometimes smiling happy guy. Most people only saw the closed off one. Penelope somehow was one who saw both. She was someone who could possibly be the one to show him he was worth getting involved with. He never thought she would be attracted to him and he did everything to push her away. He felt guilty hurting her but he felt it was the only way to prevent any feelings from developing on both sides. What I loved about their relationship was the patience Penelope had with Wolfie. She was there for him, supported him and listened when they talked. It wasn’t only a physical attraction. She wanted to get to know the real him. Wolfie was able to let down his guard for her and show her the man he was capable of being. Sometimes it takes the right person to help you open your heart and let love in. That is who Penelope was to Wolfie. Sometimes you have to expect the unexpected. Thank you Kendall Ryan for creating a male character unlike all the others. Wolfie will always be my favorite.

  • A beautiful, heart-warming love story!

Are you ready to head back to the Frisky Business world??? This second book in the series follows the budding relationship between Wolfie and Penelope and let me just say I absolutely fell in love with these two!! Wolfie is the quiet, broody bestfriend/roommate to Connor and the one Connor insists that can help his sister Penelope on a weekend retreat for work. Penelope is the career driven sister to Connor and the one who decides to playoff Wolfie as her boyfriend on a weekend work retreat. These two had Wolfie's past to overcome which wasn't easy but Penelope was determined to show Wolfie that with the right person she could soothe his mind and all the bad that came with it. This was one book that was nothing short of a beautiful love story that will warm your heart!

  • Love this!

I love Kendall Ryan's writing. I know when I pick up one of her books I'm going to be drawn into her character's world and My Brother's Roommate was no different. I was captivated from the start and read the book in one sitting. There were moments I laughed, moments I hurt for the characters and definitely swoony and sexy moments. My Brother's Roommate is the story of Wolfie and Penelope. I loved watching how these two came together. Falling for a friend's sister is one of my favorite tropes and I thought this was really well done. Wolfie is not perfect by any means. But I understood his flaws and I loved watching him work through them. I just wanted to give him a big hug. I absolutely cheered for him throughout this book as he grew. I love how he loves :) Penelope wasn't looking for this. She's a smart, strong woman who just works hard and wants to be seen for that. Unfortunately her job isn't seeing her for what she's worth. Watching her navigate her work situation while balancing Wolfie and developing things there was great. I really liked Penelope and I thought she was someone I'd be friends with. As I mentioned above I really liked these two together. In and out of the bedroom. I thought they complemented each other really well and truly were able to help each other through some situations that weren't always pretty. They just fit and I loved it. This book took me on a great journey. I was captivated from beginning to end and had a smile on my face when I finished. I loved this book and would absolutely recommend it.

  • Wolfie is full of amazing surprises!

Wolfie is full of surprises. As one of the owners of Frisky Business, you would think he has all the confidence to be a lady’s man but deep down, he carries deep scars that cause him to avoid relationships. Penelope has been infatuated with Wolfie for years but he doesn’t seem to notice her. When she needs a plus one to impress her boss, Wolfie agrees to assist but he doesn’t expect to be her boyfriend. Suddenly, these friends start to see that something more could be between them. But Wolfie is afraid, does Penelope have the patience and courage to fight for what she really wants? I loved how this relationship built, it wasn’t fast and Wolfie has to come to terms with his past to allow himself to accept happiness. Penelope is a great balance for Wolfie and he is the perfect shoulder for her to lean on.
