  • Historical Fiction

A bit long but enjoyable read. Scenes of early America are vivid if fictitious. The losses of this one family, to diseases now eradicated, is prophetic in this time of COVID19. Characters are entertaining and believable. It was a dangerous and difficult time to be living in North America.

  • Amazing!

I love, love, love this book. It is eye opening and incredible. I don't want it to end. I love history of any type. What I truly enjoyed about this book is that it gives you an insight into how the people lived. You feel what they felt in the time period. I highly recommend this book.

  • Wonderful historical piece

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the historical backdrop, the weaving, the actual time and setting, and imagining what all life must have been like before the American Revolution. Loved the character ters, the weaving, the evolution and development of the characters in the story! I only had trouble with the author's depiction of bears in the wilderness. A good, self respecting bear back in the day would still have been afraid of large groups and settlements of people. I just can't imagine any near accidentally stumbling into a group so sleeping travelers in the bush by accident. They certainly have an excellent sense of smell. Today, when we are infringing so much more on habitat perhaps. Just my opinion, living at the edge of a Canadian forest a good portion of my life.

  • My Name is Resolute

This novel is beautiful. It is heartbreaking. It is a narrative full of triumph and loss. It is the story of a woman (Resolute) who refused to give up at any point. It is definitely worth a glance and readers will be changed, for the better as a result.

  • My name is resolute

Very good read. It may be fictitious, but the events are probably very true. I hated putting the book down to go to sleep!!!
