  • "I had you for a moment."

"I had you for a moment." I was soooooo mad at August I couldn't see a way for him to make things right. What he did? At that moment when it was revealed - all I felt was a deep betrayal. How could he? Time is supposed to heal everything or at least ease the pain Five years had passed and I think it hurt even more. Things somehow do work out The picking up and repairing of all the broken pieces, the revelations, the why's that brought us to an understanding... It was an emotional journey. Sometimes it is the little miracles that have the ability to open the most holden of hearts. I'm going to apologize to mom (Rich Girl's). I might have been a bit harsh. I don't approve of your actions nor do the "reasons" IMO justify them, but I think understand better why. Beckham, I see what you are doing and you need to come to terms with the past. Stop feeding the beast inside you - let him go. It's time. Rich Girl... You did good Anderson, you were then and always will be less than the muck others walk upon. True respect is earned. Life doesn't give guarantees Make the best of each moment Plan for forever but Love like there is no tomorrow This ends with an HFN - I am thinking we will see a certain someone else get their HFN soon as a few threads were left lose

  • Epic Conclusion

What an epic conclusion in this duet. Book two picks up right where book one left off and stole my heart and ripped it out all in one sweep. Rylee's character development made me feel so proud of her as a reader and I loved her personal growth with a surprise circumstance. August killed me with his broody tendencies and I wanted to shake some sense into him. I love how the author through in a fantastic twist just to make sure I was captivated and wouldn't let go of this story HIghly recommend!!!

  • Love grows and changes

Wow, where to begin with this one. This is the second book in the Wicked Poison series. It is not a standalone and “My Beautiful Poison” must be read first. Ms. Smith has crafted a heartbreaking, emotional story that will grip readers from the get go. Rylee and August had that all-encompassing love that should have endured until, August up and left and Rylee was left alone. August had his reasons for leaving and just moved on with his life. However, sometimes life has other plans. Fast forward a few years and August is back in town and accidentally runs into Rylee. What was once thought to be buried, has sprung up like a geyser. Can these two forge a new relationship and let go of the past? Overall, this is one angsty read with drama. It shows the growth between two people who have overcome so much to gain an understanding and find a new definition of love.
