  • Great addition to the Saving Time series

I received an advance copy of Nairobi Jack, the third novel in the Saving Time series by Monique Martin. The Saving Time series is a spin-off of the popular Out of Time series and revolves around the adventures of Jack Wells, who we know from his exploits with Simon and Elizabeth, the protagonists in the Out of Time series. In the Saving Time novels Jack Wells completes assignments for the Council of Temporal Studies. In each novel, Jack travels to a different time and place to investigate or rescue someone whose death would disrupt history. In this novel, Jack is in Nairobi in the early 1930’s and finds out that he knows and has a past with the person he is there to save. This sets up a compelling mystery as Jack attempts to save his target and find out why he is in Nairobi and what he is up to. This novel is very readable. It’s fast paced and exciting. You’ll want to rush to the end of this book to find out what happens to the main characters. Nairobi Jack is a stand-alone novel, but I recommend starting with book one to learn more about Jack Wells and how he came to work for the Council. I highly recommend this enjoyable read.

  • Intriguing from start to finish!!

I really enjoyed this new book in the Out of Time series, which can be read as a stand alone novel although it helps having read the other books in the series. Author Monique Martin perfectly captures the readers attention as she sends Jack out of his time into the wilds of Africa. You'll like Nairobi Jack if you're into time travel, intrigue and mystery.

  • Jack's Back - and with a twist!

Giving this one five stars was a no-brainer. I've been reading Monique Martin for a while now, and love how fast-paced and humorous her writing is. A friend originally recommended this series to me, and I was initially skeptical: 'Time travel? Ugh.. I don't know...' But you are quickly drawn in and begin to not only CARE about these characters, but want to read more and more about them. Jack as a character is perfect: he's dashing, intelligent, has a great sense of humor, and gets his job done. Men and women alike should be able to enjoy Jack's stories. While I did receive this as an advanced reader copy, rest assured that it only meant I got to read this a little earlier than everyone else - and I loved it! As always, the storyline is great, moves along wonderfully, and there's a fun twist that you likely were NOT expecting (but it totally works!)

  • Great series!

I had the pleasure of receiving and advance copy of this book in which meet again Jack Wells, who we know from his adventuress with Simon and Elizabeth, the beloved characters in the Out of Time series. In this 3rd book of this spin-off series, the Saving Time novels, Jack works for the Council of Temporal Studies to restore the timeline. What I love about this author is that you get to meet again beloved and well developed characters in an always refreshing new setting. In this new book, we are truly transported in time and space and "feel" we are in '30s in Nairobi. True to her style, Monique Martin crafted a story that is real page turner. Jack is a lovable hero, the type of guy that you just want to root for. To me, this is the mark of a really great author, when you feel you know the character and that you care about what happens to him. If you enjoy a fun mystery, adventure in time-travel with amazing characters, I highly recommend everything written by Monique Martin.
