  • A Dick Francis Thriller of courage and endurance

I keep going back to this story because it intrigues me how Finn, a jockey, can be born into a nest of classical musicians, and still maintain a superficial relationship with his family without becoming un-nerved by their indifference to his career. It also strikes me as being un-nerving for Finn to be held up to derision by a media sportscaster and to have his worst races televised. When Finn starts to investigate the misfortunes of his jockey peers, he is seriously un-nerved by the attack on his person. Fighting back against his enemy with the help of his friend and his beloved first cousin, he proves his worth, wins the big race and vanquishes his enemy, face to face. What nerve!

    Thanks for your feedback!
