  • "So...checkmate "

"So...checkmate " I wavered between a four and five-star rating with this - I decided on five because though this is the first in their duet I believe had I read the previous books Mac and Taylor's story would have made an even greater emotional impact (if that is even possible) This went beyond enemies to lovers. It brought forth such a roller coaster of emotions for me that closing the final page on this part of their journey left me feeling a bit haunted. "But if you put me down, King Kong, you can really give that chest a good beating. " Mac- one of the most romantic and sexy lead characters I have had the pleasure of hating, salivating and loving all in one chapter. "You're so tiny but so mighty. A warrior. " Taylor - so full of life yet so broken. Mac has spent his life being the top dog - He bends for no one (but mommy dearest) - He feels for no one - The world is his playground so why play with the same toy twice? Taylor is the fixer. That friend that is always smiling and will protect you with her life. The best of the BFF's. She is also the one with the highest walls, the most heartbreak and the hidden closet full of pain. Watching these two navigate the land mines around their 'relationship' was beyond entertaining. Taylor uses snark and Mac uses arrogance - together they are explosive! I can honestly say this is a must own romance. It checks all those boxes - friends to lovers, snark, steamy, angst, comedy, loss, five-star supporting cast, and did I mention swoon-worthy romance?

  • Loved it

5 Star Review of No White Knight (Secrets Of Stone #8) by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue From the start I was entranced by Maclain Stone, and Taylor Mathews . I have read other books in this series and this may well be my favourite. Taylor finds herself attracted to Mac despite herself and he is determined to have her even though she continually resists. However Taylor doesn't count on the persistence that is Mac . Both Mac and Taylor have issues that they need to overcome and No White Knight certainly contains plenty of romance, spice and drama. Taylor is such an independent woman I could easily see her as a friend. I can understand the frustration that Mac feels but really all he wants is to be the one to rescue Taylor and bring down the walls she has surrounded herself with. The big question is can he? No White Knight is smoking hot and certainly delivers on the sizzle. Told in dual POV’s it will spark your interest and keep you entertained. Both Ms.Payne and Ms. Blue obviously work well together as it was impossible to determine where one author ended and the other took over, which is a sign of a great book in my opinion.

  • Mac and Taylor are Hot!

I absolutely loved this book! This is book 8 of the Secrets of Stone series and Angel Payne and Victoria Blue did not disappoint. We have Mac and Taylor, who each have their own challenges with life. Mac is a hotshot neurosurgeon and playboy who falls for Taylor. Her on the other hand, wants nothing to do with him. She is Miss Independent but life has been rough on her. She helps others while she does nothing for herself and Mac wants to help her bring those walls down. Mac also has secrets and challenges of his own. He soon realizes Taylor is not like other women and won't fall for his tactics. In the end, their chemistry grows too strong and it gets very hot between the two. Of course, there will be drama. I love how independent Taylor is and I can relate to her since I too do a lot for others without thinking to do something for myself. If you are a fan of this series, you will LOVE this couple's story.

  • I loved Maclain and Taylor

No White Knight was another great read by Angel Payne and Victoria Blue. This is book eight in the Secrets of Stone series. I loved reading Maclain and Taylor's story.Taylor becomes Maclain's obsession and fights Maclain at every step, until one day when she can't keep fighting. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by the authors.
