  • There is none so blind...

I really enjoy books that feature dogs so this is a winner already. Throw in the trope of the blinded hero who cannot get past his own pity party and you've got me. Usually the heroine who gets our blind hero out of his funk is a nurse/carer/nurturer who, in the process of bringing about his new normal, can't help but fall in love with him. Here, the twist is that she's also been blinded due to circumstances beyond her control so her empathy is based on personal, not empirical, experience. The twists and blind herrings in this story have you making guesses that don't always add up and not everyone is as they seem. Now that I've met these characters I might consider investing in the rest of the series to get to know them better.

  • Beautifully written

This was a very well written and thought provoking story. A challenging insight into the lives of people with obstacles most of us can't even begin to fathom dealing with for a few moments let alone a lifetime.

  • Engaging read

An engaging story with strong lead characters. I like how the narrative deals with the issue of being 'visually impaired later in life' in both lead characters due to accidents. It made me appreciate my own sight.
